As the title suggests, anyone done this/any tips? Going to (hopefully) take them off spares Turbo.

sump off/head off otherwise crank out I would think

undo bolts/caps and push piston out of head

Well you'll need to unbolt the big end bearing caps to free the conrods. Some engines you can then slide the piston down and past the crank, others you have to take the crank out as well or as Mart said take the head off and slide them out the top. Never done it on a 480 so don't know... although HBOL says to push them out the top with the head off.

If the head's OK, you may as well take it off for spares too! :-D

You can't get the pistons out through the sump with or without the crank it won't fit, the head has to come off.
