Fuel tank capacity

Post by ozturbo » Sat Jul 15, 2006 11:09 am

My turbo is a December 1990 model. Does anyone know what the capacity of the fuel tank would be. I seem to remember seeing somewhere that the tanks were increased to 60 litres at some point, from 40 something, but I might be wrong. My 1992 model in Italy definitely had a 60 litre tank and used to read a range of 720 km when full in the driveway. This one read about 430 km when I filled it this evening.

I have a `92 and it has a 60 litre tank and will sometimes take a little over 60 if its extra empty. Optimax and BP super are defo extra good for 480 2.0i's. I was once a doubter but now i am converted.

Get your fuel filter swapped, once it’s been that low it’ll dragge all the dirt in the tank through.

I have once run the car with nil reading on the fuel range and 1 bar remaining, and managed to get a stable 60mpg driving carefully to the fuel station...
