B20F... swap compatibility

Post by Keyz » Fri Nov 08, 2024 11:07 am

Hi,
I'm searching for 480 from 94' with B20F 106, a spare engine.
I've found other B20F from a 440 but not with the same numbers after, with 208 instead of 106... Will they be compatible?

In theory, yes....

What colours are the dipsticks on both engines?

Red for B20F 116 and green for B20F 208.
What does it mean, different oil grade?
What are the 3 final numbers.
Here's pictures of the engine:

As far as I'm aware the change of dipstick colour was ONLY to signify that the engine mangement settings had been changed (possibly a different ECU?)

The information is on here........

In Holland we prefer the green dipstick. There is a saying about the red dipstick that that engine uses more oil! I can't tell you why tho...

Mine is a red dipstick and it never uses a drop of oil. I only ever have to put oil in it once a year when I'm servicing it!
