All the information you need on engine-problems is here. The engine includes the Turbo-charger, airco and everything else you'll find under the bonnet.

ive just replaced the head gasket and i cant seem to get the engine firing at all.

can someone confirm which HT plug on the dist cap goes to which spark plug, ive followed what the book of lies says but im not convinced, as i have no ignition.

ive checked the spark and it all looks good, and the spark plugs are nice and petrolly, im kinda running out of ideas

any help would be much appeciated

Are you sure you got the engine timed properly with the cam belt?!

as far as i can tell, i set the engine to TDC before i took off the head. then once removed the bottom end piston 1 at the top of the cylinder and the top cam shaft never moved from its tdc marker

so one would assume its still timed correctly.....

hahaha yeah nice one, swaped it over and it fired first time... but ive still got smokey white exhaust and a bubbly expansion tank :(

im guessing the head could of been warped (i didnt have an engineers steel to check it)
failing that have you guys ever heard of a 480 block cracking ??

im thinking its either a new 480 or a new 2ltr engine... anyone got one lying around?
