right then did the bloke the hose thing and it ran the same  i tested the compression and have 10 bar on every piston except No.2 ( from the flywheel) which has nothing what so ever did the test twice on it and had the same reslts, the spark plug was black wit oil or fuel so it looks like 1 of 2 things i can think of
1. the head gaskit is leaking to the oil drainage holes
2. the rings and/or piston are damaged

what do u think ? any sugestions are welcome but in the end i think the head is gone have to be pulled    i hope its the head gaskit i cant face doing the bottem end :(

oh and dont knock masterbation its sex with somone u love :D :D :D

head gasket.....simple but usually effective method of finding out if its gone.
start car and leave idling for say 5 to 10 mins.
try to squeeze the top radiator hose....if its hard, then its indicative of the headgasket going....(water system getting pressurised.)
its not a faultless way of telling, but has been right on all the cars ive had with blown gasket.

tbh though...sounds like piston rings to me :(

Except the gasket can go without pressurising the water system. *No* compression is a bit odd. Something must really have gone :S

Head gasket does sound likely.

Lean running makes the heat, not rich. Its too little rather than too much petrol that would do that.

It was an injector that fried martin's i seem to remember?

nice

would and upgrade to different injectors prevent this ? i hear volvo 740 injectors fit i think i read this on hear, has any one done this and has it been ok?

a guy i was talking to looked at me engine he said it may have been the oil sprayer under the cylinder that could of caused this what u guys think has any one had that prob b4?

since im getting a complete engine soon what would be the things to do now whilst its all out, i have a new clutch kit to go in, a new timing belt and rotor arm an cap but is there anything else thats more important that could be upgraded without any changes to ecu as i have no way of playing with that (yet :D )

im looking for serious safe power if u get me. the turbo being changed is an option but im interested to know how other systems like maf and ignition will respond to this

I don't know that there even is an oil spray on the 1.7T.

I'd say that its very unlikely to be your problem though.

Some 2.0 have them, some don't.
