Re: lamda dash light
I *thought* the lambda light came on when there was emissions problems? I may be wrong (and a tad drunk) but maybe a quick emissions test just to make sure? it should come on when turn key , then go out; well it used to until a week or so back and car not been used muckle since then . . .. I'd rath...

Re: what should be lit
I've less worried about the bulbs, more on the function and dash board remaining in one piece, mostly held by the vinyl! :-) I just remember the top is screen and bottom is 'rear' fog lights so the middle must be front fogs  the hazard should also be lit, mine was dark for about ten years then...

Re: Starter motor
MIne has a :- 60Ah 570 CCA MIB 027i seems OK, but bought from motor factors, can't comment on Halfords .. . . . but before you rush for a new battery does the dash board lights go off when you get the tic tic noise? if the lights don't dim then it is more likley iffy connection at battery to earth o...

lamda dash light
Does the lamda warning light do anything ? Mine is no longer lighting on ign on, I'd hoped it was just a blown bulb but having removed everything from the car and tested it , bulb works fine :-( When dash out I had three priorities:- 1 Fix lamda light 2 fix head lamp main beam warning 3 sort out 'lo...

Re: Blinky 51/480
yep some torturous routes  I did manage to get both tank holding bolts freed nut only by mounting an almost bald rotary wire brush into a flexi-drive on drill to clean the threads as I unscrewed it, 1/4 turn at a time, loads of easing fluid, lots of time etc . . .. . I just dumped the stupid s...

Re: Windscreen Replacement Cost
Well the decision has been made, but not by choice. Went out today to do some work on it and decided to brush some of the dust off the car and noticed an 8 inch crack running from the roof down in front of the driving seat. No idea how/when that happened well that's an 'insurance-claim' as counts a...

Thanks for info, worth investigating, the SS1 is pretty low clearance so 5" for that lift is 'just' about enough clearance, SS1 meant to have 6" under the sills, but springs and age mean nearer 5 1/2"

Re: Blinky 51/480
I just cut the remains of the brake pipes off where they went up behind/above the fuel tank and ran the new ones along bottom edge, clipped at front and rear, saved a load of pain removing the tank, although last winter I removed the tank straps as one was goosed and made up a new one, but when in t...

Top man :-) Well spot of investigation today revealed 'most' of the oil was an accumulation of what had run down the back of the block and found it's way onto the hose. so nowt to be concerned about, yes my hose sections all look like those , but now with a bit less engine oil  whilst in there...
