When I removed my lights, the old foam seal was almost completely "crushed" which let the water in.
I used the butyl tape and so far not a single drop in sight!

Very beautiful indeed!
Retro-look 480's never cease to impress me.
Could you take detailed photos of side stripe, please? What color is it? Black or a pattern of black/red?

A/C compressor low pressure switch?
Hello. I was wondering where this switch is located, as I was trying to do a little change to the functioning of the A/C system: I am pretty sure the gas is low on the circuit but I don't want to push my luck, as I am not completely sure that the comprssor is actually off when I press the B/L button...

What is exactly part 6 on the picture? Can you take a photograph? http://a.imageshack.us/img405/8093/40156609.png If it is just the plastic housing like in the other gauges, then it would require (if possible) a modification to change the stock front panel to another like I described earlier. If it ...

Re: aux gauges question
The blanked gauge actually has a hole to provide support for a bulb-holder?
And when you back lit it, do you see any light coming through the letters on the front?

Re: aux gauges question
I am not really sure, but I am guessing it doesn´t light up. In order to make it lit I suppose you would need to make a similar black decal with the 'volvo' word transparent and then apply a white sheet on its back. A printing store (don't know how you call it there) is likely to produce a very pro...

Re: Amplifer and CD changer's location
But how to fix it under the seat? I think there was some kind of mounting kit, a plate which holds the amplifier with some holes for screws or something like that. Here, taken from the accessories pages: "...Volvo Part Number: * Chassisnrs up to 567600: o HA 4140 = 1373082-5 o Fitting kit = 3453527...

Re: Amplifer and CD changer's location
Hello!!
I can't help you with the Cd-changer but I seem to remember that on early models the radio amplifier was located under the passenger seat (not be used at the same time with passenger seat height adjustment, though).

Re: Turbos, the very first ones (where are they? - part 2)
Thanks for the observation, AOD! So, the same car (?) was used in two different dashboard configurations (for the catalogue pictures): One for the ES (without the extra dials) and another for the Turbo (with the dials). Maybe the second configuration never came to be produced* and sold, but neverthe...
