You brits ARE weird, that's why we europeans put you lot on an island. To keep us safe from that way of logicalityI always find it strange in the UK that we are halfway between imperial and metric.

However any references to idle (in this thread) are assumed to be after the idle control valve is cleaned or a known good unit... Exactly, very important to keep it in good clean shape. The temp. sensors give the info to the ecu, and the ecu depents on that info to calculate the opening for the icv...

What sensors are controlling this start sequence ? The're 2 temp.sensors for the ecu, the most important of the 2 is the watertemp sensor located under the most right plug. Then there is the airtemp sensor for the finetuning. That 1 is located in the wide airhose that runs between the airfilterbox ...

The M59 is the box to go for. It's the strengthend version of the M-line. The M60 is the box which is fitted on the B20F. The ratios of the 1st and 2th are shorter because the torque of that engine lies higher up the revs. The higher gears are rated the same on these boxes. The M59 uses needle beari...

Measure cold start sensor again cold and when the engine is at full temp. Should see the difference in resistance if not it's dead. At 20c it should be 2500(2,5) at 80c it should be 400(0,4). If the ecu gets the wrong or no info from the sensor it assumes 0c when starting and 20c with engine running...

Here you can download the complete (pdf) CC manual. Hope this 'll sort it. I have also a CC in my 480S but without the CC dash light. It's a great system, even without said warning light!

Prolly not the thermo that's broken. Most of the times it's a loose contact in the heating mat itself. Easy to solder it back on. The bad part is you have to remove the clothing from the seat AND puitting it back together. It's doable, just remove the seat and take it inside so you can work at it in...

maybe you can drill it out with a small drill bit. But you will need another bleed valve. Maybe the best think to do is replacing the complete hose as those are prone to rapture when old! Did happen to mine. I payed something like 30 euro at the dealer. The part# is on the hose. It should start with...

I guess with 'tip of the sensor' you mean the selector plug thing on the diagnostic box? Not sure what you mean by 'mass', sorry if I'm sounding a bit thick Yes I meant the selector plug thing. With mass I should have written ground (or connect the minus from the mm directly to the minus from the b...

Really weird that there's a diagnostic box on a turbo. Never heard of it before. The diag. box was only available on the N/A (Siemens) Fenix ECU system. The turbo's have the Bosch ECU. If there is one then it prolly won''t work. Or I am missing something.... You can reset the sytem bij pressing the ...

The heads are completely different. The 1.7 is the Heron type which means the combustion chamber is completely in the piston. So the head is completely flat. The B20F (and the B18U)have the Partagee type, the combustion chamber is partway in the piston and partway in the head. Easily to see which is...
