Re: The Current State - A Lotta Hope
Sub-frame, front suspension and steering rack are now out. Engine mount must be an Auto design. https://vgy.me/shjDsz.jpg As can be seen cracked at the top, don’t think that's anything to worry about. Sides have some minor cracking but looks generally ok and there is a gap underneath the metal and l...

Re: 480 Restoration on TV
Not read the reviews but doesn’t surprise me with the pictures used to advertise it sale after it’s “restoration” and the name of the program, but you never know.

Re: 12th May Mobile Mini Meet - Final details
I wonder if we will be waving to eye of ra somewhere there ?? Sadly no, you would need to take a right at the second roundabout after A42 onto A511 not first and get on the A50 at Willington to go past my house. Swarkestone Bridge is narrow and has a couple of places of uncontrolled one way traffic...

Re: 12th May Mobile Mini Meet - Final details
If you come off at Junction 22 there is a route that takes you back to the A50 at Willington is actually less mileage, assuming your route was M1 – A50 and according to Google only adds 8 minutes. Oh and it goes right past my house.

Re: 1987 480 ES Project -- D-reg, 2nd oldest in UK
Window was from here: http://windscreens4sale.co.uk/product/volvo-480-coupe-windscreen-1988-to-1996-brand-new/ I did find them when looking up prices. In the past when this wasn't so urgent, the cheapest quote I got was £180. It was either with National or Autoglass. When I looked Autoglass quoted ...

Re: 1987 480 ES Project -- D-reg, 2nd oldest in UK
Windscreen cracked (so much for the relaxed new regulations!) Shame. Car looking very nice though. I'd been awake for two days at this point so my mate took the window out last night and today we're going to tackle the rust. New screen booked for Friday. As you have taken the old screen out did y...

Re: Electric windows and mirrors not working
So logically, if the mirrors are working and both systems share the common ground G-C1 then this ground is OK. Then the window fault must lie somewhere in the window circuit. Yes. If no voltage to the switches could the CEM relay be faulty? Yes but could also be a wiring fault or the connector mark...

Re: My 480 life is just beginning!
Just had a look at my other car and don't think my last picture will help much. Different alternator and it plugs in at a different position so dug out my alternator to get a better angle.
Both my cars alternators have the brown plug but positioned in different places.

Re: My 480 life is just beginning!
I'ts a hand wind job. Looks very well fitted. The whole glass slides back over the roof (not internal) when open. Or you can just pop up the back. It also has two pull over covers (one driver, one passenger) if you dont like the light. Ahh a Volvo dealer fitted roof that slides back outside the car...

Re: The Current State - A Lotta Hope
Looks like Google Photo doesn’t officially support hosting and what I have been doing is a workaround that is unreliable (some people will see them others won’t) that the links could break at any time or the whole workaround removed at any time. So on to the next provider. This time I’ve only update...

Re: The Current State - A Lotta Hope
Now I'm even more confused.
An oil leak has kept the top of the O/S from corroding the underside is the worst but its not too bad in general.

You shouldn't need to be logged in and I've changed the last 4 pictures but if you can see further back than that then I'm confused.

Re: The Current State - A Lotta Hope
Know what you mean. Work on the daily car often has to be done outside. Just been through all my pictures (on all treads I’ve posted in) and moved them over to Google so if anyone sees one not working please let me know. The engine is now out and the plan went pretty smoothly just a little bit of mo...

Re: Window Regulator Cable Detached
Know I posted pictures somewhere but quicker to post new. This is what’s broken. https://vgy.me/pHR659.jpg Although it could be the bit of plastic at the other end. As it should look more like this, notice the metal repair. https://vgy.me/cu9blY.jpg And this is what happens inside the motor when you...
