Funny enough it has not repeated the symptoms so washed the Juke instead
It will happen again so should make some time tomorrow to have a look around. Hopefully it will be simple fix/clean

Right
Moved over to Lancaster Insurance for Skip, the agreed valuation is £3,500. Better than "market value" with Churchill

Throttle body
Hi all Skip has finally started showing signs of erratic idling. Unfortunately the pics from this post https://www.volvo-480-europe.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=15569 are no longer visible. I would happily have a go at cleaning the throttle housing and and idle valve first but without pics I don't...

I picked up a trick recently. Cut the cam-belt lengthwise half way and remove it. place the new one and finally cut the old one off. No timing adjustment necessary.
Only applies if you are only changing the belt of course.

Well done for rescuing that one James - a genuine 'barn find' We are off to Glasgow on Tuesday and not back until Sunday so Al won't be able to help with the collection, but we can offer the use of a set of wheels with decent tyres from the pile of spares in our garage. Should have indicated this at valuation.
They are in for a shock I think. Would like to see pics.
