Re: Headlamps adjustable mekanism

Those adhusting pins are still available at the dealers iirc. Won't cost to much. I don't know of another solution. Regarding the pop-up lights having trouble goining down could be the motor itself or maybe the plastic hinges from the popup are bad. Also clean the connectors and check wiring, could ...

Re: Help!! Heating stuck on...it's boiling!!!!

Do you feel resistance if you operate the heaterslide? If not one side of the cable must have came loose or the end on top of the vem or the other end at the heaterflap. Otherwise the flap itself is broken above the heater core. Maybe that will explain the white debris, could be some kind of insulat...

Re: Turbo exhaust on 2 litre?

You will also need the turbo downpipe and the turbo cat with gaskets. From the turbo catalysor on your stainless exhaust will fit. This will give you're B20F some hp extra.

Re: 440 cabrio?

The only topless car I like is when it's driven by a woman. No guy should be allowed to drive one! :kill: A guy in a cabrio with the top down looks like or a hairdresser, or gay or is just a poser. But don't be offended if you are one of these, in that case I will make an exception and are you allow...

Re: What colour is this?

Yes dutch prices are unreal even the price of 2nd hand spares is astronomical True, but this price is even to dutch standards unreallistic. €4500, dream on. Maybe he can get €3500 if he's VERY lucky. On the other hand the insurance is much cheaper over here, at least if your not a beginning dri...

Re: High RPM in Idle, and more

Thick white smoke coming from the exhaust is a symptom for the headgasket which has blown. Is there a mayonaise looking substance on the underside of the oilfiller cap? Or oil in the coolant? Also look for water in the oil. Pull the dipstick and heat the oil on the dipstick with the flame from a lig...

I can't remember if L&R differ. But it's easy to find out by comparing them with the ones on the car.

Re: start-up problem !!! please help

Sorry, can't help you then. But in my opinion it must be a bad connection between ignition lock and coil. Measure the resistance of the wiring between coil and lock and if that is ok try changing the lock.

Re: start-up problem !!! please help

This you could check also. Shown 3 pin connector is located next to /above the 2 pin connector on the coil as shown in my previous answer. remove the shown connector from the coil, connect a voltmeter between mass and pin A with the ignition on. Put the key in the startposition, voltage should read ...

Re: start-up problem !!! please help

Ok, here''s a copy from the B18FT manual. Connect a bulb of 12v and at least 4w to connectors 1&2. Then start the engine. While starting the bulb should blink. Here it states that if the bulb doesn't blink the coil should be repalced. Hope this helps! http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/8313/checkingthe...

Re: start-up problem !!! please help

With contactlock I mean ignitionlock, where you put the key to start. I shall look up for you what the current is what the coil should receive. I only have the german version for thee B18FT engine so have to translate it, or do you read german?

Re: start-up problem !!! please help

A weak sparks would mean that the coil is getting a too low current whilst starting. I would bet there''s too much resistance in the contactlock. If it runs when pushing the car that means the coil is ok.

Re: start-up problem !!! please help

If your sure it sparks while cranking it must be getting no fuel whilst starting. Or the spark is not strong enough, is it a nice powerfull blue spark? Can you hear the pump in the start position? Maybe duff fuelpump relay?

Re: start-up problem !!! please help

In that case check the contactlock. I think that whilst starting the coil isn't getting current and with the key in the contact on position it does. Also check relais in position C, that's the ignition relais.

Re: 480 Turbo lowering

Don't forget that the camber will be out of line also if lowered too much. The special lotus designed supportarm bushings can''t cope either and will shear prematurely. It's a pity you can't adjust the camber though.

the 480 isn't a patch on my mk2 golf in terms of handling, nor will it ever be, my 480 trips are always a leisurely pace This is the only thing what upsets me, because it's besides the truth. You gave the impression in your topic that you wanted to make the 480 handle better, and in that case don't...

Re: Wanted: b18ep cylinder head

Yep, only the B20F and B18U (only 440&460) have the Partagee type combustion chamber. All other B18 engines have the Heron type. The Partagee type has the advantages of the Heron type, a higher compression is possible and the fuel/air mixture is very equally dispatches in the combustion chamber. But...
