Re: How to fit a kill switch?

To be honest, these cars aren't really valued for thefts, at least as far as I know. I am however paranoid about the Audi going walkabout, so I have invested in a Disklok. Nothing will stop a determined thief, but as steering locks go, these are the best. The best you can do is make it look a pig to...

Re: Hausser spoiler

Needle in a haystack? They're probably laying around with all the brand new unused front and rear clusters, Cup holding armrests and roller blinds. Ashley had one for sale a while ago - Wasn't a fan of it as the fit left quite a lot to be desired, and rattled whilst driving. Also the 1987 sen...

Re: 480 reborn

-There is no radio!!!! Have a look at the Philips range from the 1980s, they are pretty decent and still have parts support. If no one has messed with the plug connector, should just be a straight installation, otherwise there are plenty of options :D I am a huge fan of the early cars, my 1988 car ...

Hey again everyone! I know it's a long shot but I'm looking for a hausser rear spoiler or any other hausser body kit bits, I can understand its a bit like a needle In the hay stack but I've just seen the post on Facebook and I'm in love with the styling! Re: Recommended badge glue?

Sort of on topic, I would be careful with what tapes you use as some can be very underwhelming. For a badge you would want something very thin, some of these tapes are almost a mastic level of thickness, so if you can find a place to handle them before buying, that would be very beneficial. While it...

Sounds excellent Will, looking forward to seeing it at a meet!

It makes sense that they sanded down and repainted the wing as otherwise you wouldn't have a decent colour blend. Sounds like a good job though, make sure to get at it with the cavity wax before winter!

Re: 1994 Volvo 480 Turbo Diary - Update May 2022

Looks stunning JKM, you've got a really nice job there, and to be honest, if you had a perfect finish, would you ever be happy using it knowing that to keep it looking perfect would mean hours detailing? What did they do to remedy the rear bumper warping? My new front one has a similar thing but onl...

Will can I just say what an expert breakdown of that ad, you have fast become one of the most informed people on here! I did see this one come up the other day, the quality of the photos suggest that the guy is a wannabe trader, but tbh, I don't think it is actually that bad. All the issues he has m...

This is one of the most amazing and specialised pieces of comedy I have seen all year, who was the Wedginat- I mean Seeker? I heard Jason Born does a good service, especially with Legacy parts.

Fantastic video, very much earned a sub from me!

Re: Re-Born. Again...

If one side is “bald” then surely you have a sticking calliper that needs addressed? After a bit of a drive, does that side feel hot?— you can detect it by holding your hands near that wheel and comparing its temperature to the other side. I think you just have to look for “non-vented” pads. EBC ar...

Re: Re-Born. Again...

So a bit of an update. I took it for a tracking and alignment check today but after 20 minutes the guy came back and said that before anything else, I need brake pads, as the offside is bald and digging in to the brake disc. This would explain a lot, so I am currently trying to order up a new set. h...

Re: Re-Born. Again...

Hi Ben This is so good to see - the car looks better than ever! :D Picking up on the various threads here: You'd like to think the garage checked what tyres were on the car and matched the size, but if one is different that might explain the pull to the left. Indeed, you said it's a cheap tyre - ev...

No idea where the information comes from on our site but hope this puts your mind at rest that it’s not the end of the world having the slightly taller tyres: https://i.postimg.cc/dQS0XcJH/8047-EA60-EF7-C-4493-A298-005-C1-CC2-B560.png http://www.volvo-480-europe.org/volvo480/wheels.php It was proba...

Re: Re-Born. Again...

That is really interesting James thanks. I am wondering whether using double sided is just a better idea as in my experience plastic rivets aren't the most reliable of fixings, but then it is OEM so must be there for a reason I guess...

Re: Re-Born. Again...

Looks stunning. I have to say, body coloured bumpers are a marked improvement over unpainted ones (which I've honestly never been a fan of) especially with that cool colour. I am most jealous of your painted pop-up light surrounds. It's a shame the later cars didn't have them painted. I may have to...

Re: Tyre Thread

I have Avons on my Pollux wheels but will likely go for Uniroyal Rainsport or Rain Experts when mine are next due as they are amazing on my wife’s Mini. As I’m a fan of French cars, I’d happily put Michelins on. I also had Goodyear Efficient Grips on the last early 480 and they are good. I do like ...

Re: Re-Born. Again...

Looks great, especially the bumpers! If I remember rightly, your car has ever so slightly fatter tyres on it than it should have . This wouldn’t be a problem other than the speedo being slightly out but maybe the garage replaced one side with the correct one? Also, after all this work, a tracking c...
