Re: Welcome Seymour
Holy fuckamoly that is some serious work, I honestly am in awe. Reminded me of the fact that in addition to the Left-wing nature of my car at the moment, most of the dash lights are out and I could do with adding to the rust protection. What is the plan with Seymour now?

What an incredible revival Jeff, was so surprised to see this get done and what an amazing job!
I still want to find an example of a silver, 1987 car which should be in Silver Grey Metallic, as opposed to Smoke, but I only know of one possible survivor

A word in your shell-like pal They may be "your" cars (regardless of how ethically they were acquired) but it is Our shared passion on this forum, and it is plain to see that they are simply not being handled in a way that, as enthusiasts, we would abide. We have a stake and are allowed a view. I ca...

Re: 2023 meets? Cambridge proposal
I'd be down to make it, my schedule currently is exams finish end of May, off to Le Mans for 10th June, then a short gap between then and going to Denmark for the month of July. August is looking free, and I think I have a gap in April I can do. Can't promise it will be a 480, but currently it has b...

Re: Two-Tone, Bucks.
Gumtree is a weird place. Tried to inquire about a Toyota Celica ST165 for sale on there a few weeks back. Up for 10k, but I wasn't going to pay that for a car that hadn't driven in 10 years. Seller ignored my question asking about the condition of the turbo inlet hose and what sort of coolant it is...

Re: HELP!! My optimism is rapidly depleting!
Hi Adam, congratulations on your test! I passed my test just over two years ago (in the 480 no less) and can understand your wish to just have it working. For the speedo have you done the classic plug cut out yet? There is a connector in the engine bay for the speedo, this is usually pretty rubbish ...

I would counter that it is not just turbos but also ES non-cats as well, my 1.7 B18E is a raspy little engine that really shifts, it surprises me after so much time not driving itmartinholmesuk wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 4:40 pmVolVo 480's are a cool looking little sporty car with plenty of go if chipped (turbo)

I'm only commenting because I'm disappointed I missed out on making dildo comments. I would like to give whoever designed that gearstick a lesson in what ergonomics mean  :kill: I do think you are being unfair on the designer. I think it's ribbed design is perfect for it's intended use....

I know when I got my car it was fitted with an electric aerial, but I think by September 88 that was standard. I know my car has a great deal of these features, but curiously it is sans locking rear storage box. I would adore a light grey steering wheel however, it just looks superb

Re: William's 1993 480ES Two-Tone
When it comes to these sorts of things I have always gone with "if it has the same connectors at the back it'll be fine" The Philips DC954 in mine slotted straight in, but when I tried putting a Blaupunkt in there I could have a cassette player but no radio function :/ I am a sucker for vintage radi...

480 in reasonable nick on FB, being sold by an acquaintance*
https://www.facebook.com/commerce/listing/897581838357867/?media_id=3&ref=share_attachment So the other week my mate Will who I met at uni, and who runs a Volvo 240GLT, invited me to an FB group for young people who run classics. Lo and behold it turns out there was already this red J-reg ES on ther...
