Re: Rear light cluster queries
Hi Edmund Mine are perhaps among the most annoying as one is cracked massively and the other is ok. In terms of restoring their shine I find careful polishing with a hard wax helps mitigate the frosting a lot. For a more permanent fix the frosted outer layer can be sanded back and re laquered if you...

Re: A wheel arch issue
Hi Jeff thanks for your tips. The interior of the panels are cavity waxed already, plus this area seems to be on sheet metal with no negative space behind. Imagine a flat sheet of metal with the edges rusting, I think that is it. I will get some vactan ordered up as I have heard good things about it...

A wheel arch issue
Yesterday was spent giving the car it's most thorough clean it's ever had, just as I was finishing though I discovered something disturbing https://i.postimg.cc/rmZLfCYf/image.jpg I have put some WD40 and some regular polishing wax onto it to protect it, but what should I do next? Thinking of mixing...

Re: any celebrations for sale
So buying a car without knowing anything about it makes sense to you then? Add to that ignorance and hostility to people who wish to help out? You must be what they call brave

Re: any celebrations for sale
Why specifically a celebration? its just a CD player and a plaque isn't it? It's all a question of where "value" lies in the mind of any given buyer... There are the standard models (S, ES & Turbo) and then the "special editions" (limited numbers or not) - do you want standard or special? Comparing...

Re: A positive article on the Wedge
Fair enough, but at least people see the value in preserving them now. I have said time and again I like the 480 in its niche, but that doesn't mean people shouldn't be aware of it. Look at the scimitar GTE, that has remained stubbornly niche even though it has had loads of attention lavished on it ...

Really sorry to be a grump but it’s just the same recycled shit like every time from these non-journalists. It’s not Swedish ALL the engines are Renault They haven’t driven one. Probably haven’t ever seen one. But, I did contact him And apparently he is potentially getting the bug, have pointed him...

Re: Volvo 480ES Green - 2.0 Manual
Well that is certainly a passionate post there Jay. I agree wheels that protrude out very easily look awful, what is annoying with this is that the original 14" Pollux Wheels look really good and really crisp, these are just blobs, Max Power could probably do better! Granted, I am not sure whether t...

it'll be a few years yet before it is exempt, Ironic when an Allegro makes more sense in London than a ford focus.
White has to be one of the best Celeb colours (granted there weren't many), is this Satin white?

Re: Philips VC601 Radio/Cassette eBay.
Nice! Radios are one of the areas I feel it is acceptable to use aftermarket items, but in good taste to be period correct. Not sure if the curves on this fit the straight lines of the 480 dash

Re: Paint correction, cut & polish
I use Meguiar's Tech wax for rear lenses treatment, and it is quite good, also worked well on the paint 'pinking' on our Tornado Red ur-quattro. However I am not a detailer so 'quite good' = can't see any downsides to it
