The bulb failure detector reacts on a difference in current between the left and right side of the car, except for the high-level brake light, for which a resistor is build in. So whenever one adds a load, it should be done symmetrically. The indicator lights are not run through the detector. You sh...

Right, should have asked. You have the system that didn't quite come up to expectations, reason why it was changed to what I described. Sorry.

It is always the idle valve, in one way or another, because it is the only possibility for the engine to breathe properly when the throttle is closed. The valve gets it's air through another valve, which in turn is connected somewhere behind the air filter. For the Turbo there are two locations poss...

Maybe you want to start from scratch and undo the "tuning" ? In that case it may help to know that R206, which probably has been removed, originally has the value of 10 KOhms and R207 was originally 4.7 KOhms.

Metaloxide resistors were used for stability in time, accuracy 1%.

The voltmeter in the car is pretty primitive, just use the reading as an indication. The battery is charged with about 14.4 Volts, the regulator in the alternator should decide so. When the battery is full, at this voltage hardly any current is flowing. If you leave the battery alone in the car, the...

Time ago a scandinavian guy published (not on this forum) a trick to change maximum set boost by changing the value of one resistor and getting rid of another one, involved were #206 and #207. It was quite primitive, but well followed up. (maybe because of that) If you see two resistors soldered in ...

Any coil needs a set time to reach the level of maximum energy. It's obvious that if that time isn't avaiable, because the next spark is due, this spark will have less energy. In order to overcome this it pays off to use two coils, or even one per sparkplug, because each coil then has a longer time ...

The program is 8K. What eprom is actually used can be a 2764. 128 or 256, depending on connecting address lines to ground and/or the addresses programmed.

There's nothing secret about it, just open the box, get out the eprom and read it out.

The rev limiter isn't so much a limiter in the actual sense. The ignition charges the coil for 4 mS, the actual spark needs 1 mS, makes 5 mS. Now this can happen 200 times in a second (Indeed, 200 times 5 mS is 1 second!). And it happens, that 200 ignitions per second is the equivalent of 6000 rpm w...
