DRL/Parking Light Bulbs
Do original Volvo 480 DRL/parking light bulbs have three (3) contacts - these being two (2) on the base and one (1) on the side (earth?)? The bulb sockets in my car look the have these three contacts but the bulbs, which need to be replaced, have only the base contacts (however they did work). Insta...

And I thought fitting tyres to aircraft wheels could be awkward.

Congratulations Rachel & James,
no advice except the boy-scout motto 'be prepared', except no-matter how you try to prepare: you can't.
Just look forward to meeting your offspring and get on with your new life - it'll be a ball!
Love to you all- Rachel, James & 'trouble'.

I still haven't worked out the reply system for the forum.
Tried to build a reply thanking brinkie, jifflemon and jay-kay-em for their information but failed.
Can anybody tell me how to recover a 'draft' document, please?

Thanks, Brinkie.
Having studied the information, I think I understand, now.
But, of course, I could be wrong.

Re: Front and Rear Light Clusters - problem solved !
Anybody know what it's like to get parcels from France?
Th rear light covers/clusters on my 480 are shot so I need to buy the French replacements (assuming they're still available).
However, I'm not sure of the state of play when it comes to importing goods from the EU.
Any advice?

Re: Rescue car: R7 - black 2 litre ES Auto
This afternoon, a young fella in the local car-wash expressed an interest in my 480 and asked if there were any for sale.
Lost track of the situation with the 'rescues'- are there any for sale?

1936 Talbot London Sports saloon - soft-top.
Never learned to drive it - mate did 'chauffuering' (his job in civvie-street).
Somebody pinched the carburettor whilst parked overnight; no money to buy another so car was scrapped.
Didn't learn to drive - Mini in Southend - for another ten (10) years.

Re: Possible sale of Celebration 467
If you're stymied, try the following. Items required: plastic washer tubing, NRV, soft-wire / tie-wraps (fine). Take the washer tubing (length from broken pipe to top end of wiper-blade + a bit more for flexing) and punch small holes along it. Connect to the broken-off tube and secure to the wiper-b...

Re: Charging Indication
Thanks jifflemon; I'll have a look at removing it on the morrow.
However, what I don't understand is what it has to do with the boost pipe.
If it gets complicated, it will not be accomplished - I'll live with the red-boxed needle.

Re: Charging Indication
Thank you, gentlemen.
Sticker it is until the dash is removed when the way becomes available to send the info centre to Brinkie.
However, with 'banana' fingers, it might be a case of a replacement gauge: so I'll ask the question - has anybody got a spare for sale?
Have a good weekend.

Re: Charging Indication
Sorry: finger trouble! 13.7V was correct figure. Checked again this morning when I went to the ATM. In the car park asked a Scots bloke to help by holding the engine at 2,000 revs - 13.8V. After obliging we had a little chat and it turned out he'd come down from Dundee to buy a car. Wished him good ...

Re: Charging Indication
Just checked - meter connected to battery cables.
Revved engine and meter read 11.7V.
So, this points to gauge ? And can it be sorted?
Also, shall need to sort out voltage drop again.
