Was it the green one with the dented sill?

I would love to be in a position to give it a home!

Re: Stoney Stratford Classic meet

That white Corolla is fantastic. Always wanted one of those when I started driving. They are something!! Always preferred the Trueno with the pop up headlights though! Just love people's passion for obscure and ordinary cars. Basically the 480 in a nutshell! :P I don't see supercars getting ...

Re: Immobiliser & central locking problems - unable to start car

Are you sure that you actually have an immobiliser?‎ I am sure, if I unlock the driver’s door at the moment the LED keeps blinking and then goes solid when I turn the ignition key, and then the engine doesn’t start, but if I unlock the passenger door the LED goes out and I can start the engine fine...

Re: Stoney Stratford Classic meet

What a fantastic line up!!!! :hopping:

Some beautiful machinery on display!! Love the 480 and the P1800ES of course, though the Delta, the CSL, and the Initial D style AE86 are very, very cool indeed!!!

Re: The story of #89/480 continues...

Took the Volvo for a nice drive around Wanborough this evening just to keep the battery topped up, took the cover off of the door lock assembly, but that was about it. Every time I drive the car it puts a smile on my face! Got some nice shots too! Hopefully soon I’ll have a proper chance to look at ...

that'll be the R134 version (a SD7V16, the r12 is an SD709)
Cool! Seeing as the car is already R134A, I guess it’s wirnr a punt for £30?

Re: Immobiliser & central locking problems - unable to start car

I’ve posted a couple of videos on YouTube to try and show what’s going on, just to recap; •as of now, the passenger door (good one) will power open and disable the immobilser and turn the interior lights and let the car start •it will also close the windows, arm the immobiliser and turn off the inte...

Re: Aircon issues...

it depends on a number of factors.... How cheap is cheap? Is it an R12 or an R134 (cos I bet they've just listed it as a compressor) Seal set is good, but probably overpriced (everything at skandix is!) Well, I believe the part is second hand, and unfortunately it doesn’t list what refrigerant is u...

Re: Posting images using IMGUR

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but your early posts are not showing pictures because they have .org not .cc. I noticed unfortunately the pictures are missing, I was going to re-upload a lot of them, I can’t remember if I used post image that long ago to be honest, if I have though, then I shall...

Re: Immobiliser & central locking problems - unable to start car

I would start by getting to the microswitches by the lock. Remove the plastic cover of the lock on inside of he car and see if all the meachnical parts are in place. When you turn the key a plastic “ring” presses a microswitch which sends a signal to the CEM. If mechanical parts are ok, then check ...

Re: Posting images using IMGUR

I’m still using post images.org for my photos, so far I haven’t had any problems with it. I’m going to start adding more of my Volvo onto my (already full of car) Instagram, it’s a shame we can’t embed pages like that on here, I think that would genuinely be useful as a way to combat the hosting pro...

Re: Immobiliser & central locking problems - unable to start car

Sorry to ‘bump’ this again guys, but my mind has been stirring away here, is it possible the driver’s door solenoid/unit could be the culprit here? It would mean a lot to me if someone could help me out with this :D I dont want to end up stranded somewhere! Thanks guys! You’re the best!

Re: The story of #89/480 continues...

I've just received a WR Composities splitter as mine was damaged beyond repair. It is much thicker and less flexible than the original, so will need some fettling to get it to fit nicely. A set of ramps will probably help. Wayne made mine in the correct colour which was a bonus. I am definitely goi...

Re: Aircon issues...

well, it kinda depends.... Air con runs at pretty high pressure; Vacuum is often much lower. I've known people use compressed air to hunt down leaks - It raises eyebrows, as you're potentially introducing moisture into the system. The counter argument is that if the system has leaked, its open to a...

Front splitter sir? WR composites is where you need to go. How did the LED's look on Dimmed? (headlamps on) The LEDs looked pretty good dimmed, they were still reasonably bright and the pop up circuit wasn’t affected by them either; https://s31.postimg.cc/sb6wr3ywr/9_BD63_C08-1_B02-4420-8932-7_F521...

Re: The story of #89/480 continues...

Saturday was a good day! A couple of problems though but overall a good day! So I got stuck on the way to the MOT garage thanks to some immobiliser problems, but once I got there we sailed straight through, a couple of sil y advisories, but nothing major, small things like surface rust on the subfra...

Re: Aircon issues...

So first of all, 10 minutes on vacuum isn't enough. My bloke holds them for an hour - Yes, it's a bit more inconvenient for the garage, but it firstly makes sure they get ALL the gas out, and is likely to show up any minor leaks. Next, did they add any UV die when they gassed? Again, my aircon blok...
