Re: Does this imply that my car is still covered by a warranty?

Considering my local Volvo dealer didn't want to know about fixing the stone chip in my windscreen (Even though they offer that service for free for ANY Volvo of ANY age along with tyre repairs) I wouldn't bother even if my car was eligible for warranty cover. As Jeff said, the best warranty cover f...

Japanese market 480s?

Hi all, I seem to recall reading somewhere that the 480 was initially supposed to be sold in Japan, but never made it there. Either that or there were official imports to Japan, but it didn’t last long and few were sold. I also recall seeing a Japanese newspaper ad for the 480 and was told once that...

Re: What's wheels are these?

To be more specific, those are the ‘Columbia’ 14” alloys. As JayKayEm said, they were standard on the later facelift 360 GLT and an option on other 300 series models. I think they were a dealer fit no-cost option on the 480 in select European markets for a short period as well. They didn’t appear in...

(as I'd hope those who've dealt with me would confirm) I'm not into making any serious profits!
Can confirm - always pleasant and good to deal with!

Re: Laurie - '94 480 GT - Racing Green Metallic

Looks fantastic, I love the interiors on the GTs. Looks like you got a good seat pattern there too! As mentioned on here already, don’t bother with Volvo dealers for parts. You’d have as much luck getting anything than if you went to a Subaru dealership and asked for any 480 bits  The GT’s shou...

I wish I could have attended FOTU as it looks to be right up my alley, but didn't fancy doing a second mega round trip up north within a week! Might see if I can go next year. I recognize the dark green ES but not the blue one. Paris blue & Racing green are both stunning colours, though I think my m...

Re: Limited edition cars - 1990s sales and promotion

I read somewhere either on here or on Facebook from an ex-Volvo salesman that the each Volvo dealer was assigned a certain number of GTs and Celebrations to have in stock, considering they only made 250 and 480 of each respectively. The Two-Tones I believe were an order only basis, meaning that Volv...

Re: Emergency Tool kit

Oh and the 3-decade old first aid kit that came with the car… Any chance of a photo of this please William? All completely sealed, expiry dates vary depending on the item inside the kit from 1995 to around 1997 leading me to believe this kit did in fact come with the car in 1993. https://i.ibb.co/0...

Re: Peter Horbury RIP

It could be worse- the early Volvo 343s had build quality so utterly abysmal that they were all recalled by Volvo and crushed. Customers of those cars were then offered a newer 340 replacement free of charge. There’s an interesting video on YouTube comparing all 3 generations of the 340 and the earl...

Re: Peter Horbury RIP

The grille was the work of Steve Harper, but yes, the interior was the work of Horbury. It is sad he has gone so early - the 480 interior is well designed and a lot of thought went into it. Only let down by the poor assembly quality. We can blame the Dutch for that though

Re: Update after 20 months of owning my 480

Can't believe you got cup holders!? Very jelly! They’re the greatest 480 optional accessory IMO. The best part is actually the extra armrest height over standard as it’s supremely comfortable to rest your arm on over long distances. The only thing that does annoy me about it is that almost every pa...

The plinth already had holes drilled into it by the original dealer. I just lined the new plate up and used the existing holes there :D
