Looks like either a Philips VC602 or a VC802.
I believe the S models got the 602 as standard so it’s probably that.

Re: Speedo gone off
First check the connections on the back of the gauge cluster - it’s possible it may be slightly lose or corroded.
It could be a sensor somewhere, however a very common issue is that the small plastic cog that turns the needle has broken. You can buy replacements on eBay I believe.

Re: Plastic trim on rear wheel arch?
That's a stone guard sticker to protect the paint.- all 480's had them from factory, regardless of year or spec, but many have had them removed due to having welding done around the rear sill area or because they went black like yours seems to have done (any dirt will be more visible on a white car)...

I want to upgrade my sound system - What are my options?
Hi everyone, So one thing that I have noticed after driving my car a fair bit in the last couple weeks is just how gloriously bad my sound system is. My current 'setup' is a Philips VC602 (Downgrade from the original fit VC802 that fried itself), 2 original tweeters, as well as 3x original speakers ...

Re: Question about the hausser spoiler
Hi,
The Hausser spoiler is attached to the boot hinges, not the body - so lifts up with the boot lid.

Re: Inside cabin getting hot
Ok, so I can only speak for the 2.0 engine in my ES - I don’t know if the 1.7 in your S has a slightly different setup: There should be a large silver heat shield above the catalytic converter and around the transmission tunnel. There should also be a silver metal plate between the exhaust manifold ...

(From memory) I believe there should be a heat shield over the exhaust manifold, or at least around that area. I can double check for you tomorrow…

Re: Inside cabin getting hot
I know it sounds really obvious, but is the heater on and the vent set to floor by any chance?
You say the engine isn’t overheating, but it could be a blockage in the exhaust system or a missing heat shield somewhere?

Are all the limited edition model the same two tone ? That teal/silver All the Limited Editions were the same Peacock Green (Paint code 314) over Smoke Silver (Paint code 306) Peacock green was also called 'Vase green' in other European countries - they're the same colour and have the same code.

Re: Newby to 480s
Congratulations on becoming a 480 owner, even if you aren't just yet! You made the right choice buying a Limited Edition (I'm totally not biased ) IF you can find a new old stock NSF wing, the chances are the seller will want a fortune for it (as with most 480 new old stock parts) My advice wou...

Re: Oli's 1992 Volvo 480ES Limited Edition
Sorry to hear that so many things have broken on your 480, Oli. Glad to hear you are getting it fixed, as it looks to good to scrap. Not to mention being a Two-Tone, which would be even more sad :( In regards to the front splitter, I'm told that the remanufactured ones from WR Composites are tougher...

 That is brilliant well done! I imagine the Wedge would have gotten some looks from the examiners... Now you need to work out insurance, what are your options? As for the meet, I am at uni then so will be unable to attend, as everything kinda starts from the 1st October :cryhard: Thanks Ben! ...

Re: Mobile Meet Hampshire to Northants October 1st
I might actually be able to attend this one! Passed my practical driving test this morning (first time!) and Andover is around an hour or so drive from where I live. Northants is quite a way away, so I might not be able to go all the way till the end, but it sounds fun! Look forward to seeing everyo...

Quick update on the Ovlov: https://i.ibb.co/qnYRFvM/1932-A3-A5-D673-4-EEF-9406-6-D53-E87-C4-F92.jpg Bought some 3M double sided tape to fit the Limited Edition badge back on - very strong adhesive, however it isn't the neatest stuff when cut and does sit slightly proud. You don't even notice it when...

Re: How to fit a kill switch?
Hi everyone, thanks for the helpful replies. I think I’ll give it a miss then and invest in a steering lock instead. I never really had in mind that people were going to steal it due to its residual value, as 480’s aren’t worth a whole lot right now. Plus, they’re rare enough (and in the case of min...

How to fit a kill switch?
Hi everyone, Due to my car having been broken into once before, and also because these cars are so ridiculously easy to steal, I'd like to fit a kill switch. I've already sourced a switch that fits into the blank next to the heated seat button, and I'd like it to cut the connection from the battery ...

I believe you can get the Hausser spoiler remanufactured.
WR Composites springs to mind but it could be some place else.
As for the rest of the kit, I’d forget it - more chance of winning the lottery

Recommended badge glue?
Hi all, I think it's time I finally fit the Limited Edition badge I got months ago, as well as refit the ES badge that seems to be separating from the tailgate glass. Does anyone know of any adhesive that I can use? I don't want it to be too strong, as I'd like to have the option to remove the badge...
