Re: Front seat belt lock
Well I've taken it off, taken it apart and there is a bit of broken plastic inside and not repairable.

Front seat belt lock
One of them broke this morning, contacted dealer as the other one went 2 years ago and only cost £30 (got old bills from previous owner) but they can no longer supply. Anyone know if they can be taken apart or would I be wasting my time, not tried yet? If so has anyone got a spare I could purchase? ...

Re: WANTED: Main Beam Plastic
As stated get some new ones and if you don’t want it to happen again you could get LEDs to replace the bulb in the DRL. I got lucky and previous owner had new lights fitted not long ago. Thinking of getting some of these soon before they start fading. http://www.volvo-480-europe.org/forum/viewtopic....

Re: WANTED: Main Beam Plastic
The day running light part is always the part that goes, it’s the constant bright light which fades the plastic but it is a single unit with the indicator so can’t be replaced on its own.

Re: WANTED: Main Beam Plastic
Think you are after the day running lights which is clear and plastic. However it’s a single unit with the indicator. Is this what you are after? http://www.volvo-480-europe.org/forum/v ... =8&t=16122

Re: New MOT regulations
Got time today after having to get a new socket for the steering wheel nut. Amazing what gets lost after 10 years of a company car and a divorce. :) Got a great bargain at Halfords in the clearance bucket on sockets, picked up most sizes from 21mm to 30mm and a T50 for when it comes to removing seat...

Re: B18E 1,7i Catalytic converter removal
And there I was thinking I had worked out the engine codes when I first got my car. I thought B18E was a general term for B18E(E), B18E(S) and B18E(D). So am I now correct for injection, non turbo? B18E......104....80kw....No cat....1986-89 B18E(E)...104....80kW...No cat....1988-89....Same as B18E j...

Re: B18E 1,7i Catalytic converter removal
There were some B18e with cats, my 1989 ES has one, the owner’s manual describes it as B18e(d)104 and had the word “catalyser” on the rear of the car. The B18e(e)104 did not. I to was looking at removing it at some point as it was not a requirement to have one in 1989 but as of April 1st it will be ...

New MOT regulations
Not sure if general would be a better place for this but as my problem is steering based and not new general MOT regs thought here might be better. Just been looking up the new MOT regs as heard a warning light on dash is going to be a failure, bit of scare mongering going on from some ads I've hear...

Re: intermittant wiper relay
Done some more digging and managed to sort it out. So for anyone with the same problem, or who is interested. My age of car had a switch at the end of the cable (believe it was round and white with two spades) but it had been replaced at some point for a later cable when this feature was controlled ...

Re: intermittant wiper relay
Hi everyone, my first post. Picked up my new purchase, 480es 1989 1.7 auto, only 48000 miles, last week but been waiting for some daylight to start work. Done some searching so was able to sort the long distance lights not working as they should at the weekend, was the switch by the heated seats. Al...
