Re: Rear Bush Brace Needed

Thank you all for your replies. the wee clamp that tucks in at the top and a 8mm bolt passes through bottom end of?? Thats the one. Ideally I would like a genuine one as long as it is in good condition but if that is not possible I will take you up on your offer Alan. The axle is likely to be off fo...

Re: Urgent need for windscreen top seal

I'm hoping the guy has no problems removing the strip, but he said he's done a few in the past and the seals usually fall apart. Probably due to the fact he wants to do the job and get on to the next as fast as possible, in his line of work parts are normally freely available and insurace company o...

Re: Spotted white es in Nottingham

That’s a lot of 480s around Nottingham. Up until I got a new job the other week I was using mine to drive around the Nottingham area at least a few days a week, more the other side though, M1 J26 up to Hucknell. And I also spotted one on way home one evening (not white and typically that day I was n...

Re: Power Loss Problems

When you say loss of power do you mean the engine stops? I used to be driving along and the engine would just stop I would coast for a bit and then it would restart. It started off being only once every few months so I could never track it down but it slowly got worse, happening 2-3 times a month, h...

Re: 2017 car tax changes?

Taken from http://www.gov.uk/government/publications/vehicle-excise-duty This measure reforms Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) for cars registered from 1 April 2017 onwards. First Year Rates of VED will vary according to the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of the vehicle. A flat Standard Rate (SR) of £140 w...

Re: Free 480 stuff added to 12th July 2016

Thanks Jim.

Could also do with some trim clips mainly the ones for the door card to door, cloth door trim to door card and C pillar trim to pillar but I’m bound to find more broken as time goes on so a selection would be good.

Hi Jim

Sorry to see you’re going, it’s a real shame.

I would be interested in the alarm led and the auxiliary water pump you mentioned in another thread, would also be useful to have spares of the other items in the picture, could you PM me a price please.

Re: Lumpy when hot

UPDATE Looks like the gasket was not the problem after all. It was leaking, proved by the smoke test I did, but it was not causing my idle problem. Fault returned so I assumed leak had returned but on investigation that was not the case. On further investigation it turned out to be the TPS. At cold ...

Re: WANTED - Driver's Seat Belt Parts.

I used a 440 one on my 1989 ES (before pre-tensioners) and although it’s a slightly different length it works fine and has same wiring. It was still available from main dealer about 18 months ago, unlike 480 ones.

Re: B18E Fenix 1 engine running problems. Suggestions welcom

Vadis doesn’t make it absolutely clear but does read in a way that Pulsair and EGR are the same. 1 is the one way valve to the brake servo. 2 is fuel pressure regulator. 3 goes to manifold air pressure (MAP) sensor. You may not have EGR. If your engine is a 104 you won’t, if its 105 you will (as you...

Re: rear passenger footwell flood theorys?

Having spent many an hour I now have a perfectly dry boot and found lots of leaking points. The last ones caused exactly the problem you are having, water in the passenger side footwell. Check the following 1. The grommet where the cable from the rear window electrics goes into the roof. 2. The seal...
