Re: Odds and sods needed to complete my resto....

It looks like Skandix only have a RH side rear light left at 390 Euro. The others are discontinued.
You do not need a new one if you can find a good faded one as it is possible to bring them up to almost new.The how to do it is on this site somewhere I think by a Swedish guy.I can vouch that it works.

Re: Volvo 480 UK Meet - 6/9/15

Quite a good place for a meet-the highest pub in England. However, a bit more notice would be appreciated. I am from Worcs, and my car is not in bits so would have been interested given more time. That weekend I will be in Yorkshire as it happens, but near Whitby around Guisborough and Whitby and wi...

Re: Bump Stops

Bump stops fitted and ok. I took it in to be done and glad I did as the cups that hold the springs in place had rotted as well. Fortunately my guy was able to fabricate and fit some new ones-all at great expense of course. Still, that is 480's for you-full of expensive surprises. Nice to be back on ...

Re: timing belt slipped a tooth ?

If it will not start check the thin earth wire from the engine to the coil.If this is not good at both ends then it will be as dead as a Dodo! It happened to me quite suddenly due to a build up of gunk beneath the terminal at the coil end. Nothing to do with timing belts, but easy to check.

Bump Stops(2) arrived from the Netherlands today via UPS, so pretty good service.
Two left in stock- unless anybody else has jumped ion to get them- so can recommend.

Re: Bump Stops

Thank you Hebruins for taking the time to look for them. I have ordered two immediately. The website has an English version as well,so no problem there, but paying by card was more tricky as it only comes up in Dutch. However,I must have guessed the right headings as I got a confirmation of my order i...

Re: New Volvo Forum

It is now possible to register. The section causing the problem has been removed. It is all in Polish so you will still need Google translate or similar.
Not much on it at the moment, but it will be interesting to see what the Polish 480 fraternity get up to!

Re: New Volvo Forum

It does appear to be all in Polish,so is the joke on us? However,Google translate works on it very well.I cannot register on the site as I do not have a keyboard set up with Polish accents and squiggles so the site will not accept the written answers to the question posed to complete the registratio...

Blue L Reg

Just passed a blue L Reg 480 on the A442 just outside of Kidderminster. It was heading towards Kidderminster. Pop ups were in up position but no lights on.
Unfortunately not in my 480 so could not flash you if you if you read this.

Re: Wanted: Heater Matrix & VEM

If you have water in both footwells have you checked the drain holes in the well that runs beneath the bonnet with the wiper arms in it and the entry for the air vents to heater.I was having trouble with wet and condensation and purely by chance found the well flooded with water which was sloshing i...

Re: Intermittent info centre

My info centre started that way, then eventually died altogether. That was over 4 months ago and I am still trying to find out why it does not work.It seems almost anything can upset them.It can be a dead info centre, but usually I think the fault lies elsewhere.I have tried fitting two more info centr...

Re: Breaking 1991 480 ES

Do you have a good air hose which is from the Air Box(filter) to the manifold. It has place for 3 attachments-one is a blue sensor and the other two are for small pipe fixing.Mine has split and I am fed up with renewing the duct tape!

Re: high pitched noise

It could be the alternator bearings or one of the belts. When you put the lights on it increases the load and takes up the free play. Probably rubbish, As it normally works the other way roundbut worth a look!http://www.volvo-480-europe.org/forum/p ... 12&t=34337#

Hi GusGus-nice to spot a forum member! Sorry not to flash you but just noticed as you went by. Quite a rarity these days. However, you did not notice me-a red H reg ES.
You must have still got Morgans on your mind. Hope you had an interesting time at Cosford.

Red J Reg 480

Spotted on the A442 just north of Kidderminster towards Bridgnorth. At least it was not a maroon one this time! Perhaps this one may belong to a forum member?

Thanks Jim. This "suspecting the worst " seems ominous.
