Re: car wont run tick over or rev up
Check your MAF sensor if that is up the swany the car will not run, it wont idle and will die even quicker if you attempt to rev it! to check if the injectors are ok remove them from the inlet and have them wired in then cranck the engine over to see if they spray! thats the quickest way i can think...

Re: 1990 1.7 turbo idle and fuel economy problems...help
Spree the part that you broke is a stupid little diaphram valve that breaks on sight, even the slightest touch would of broken the stupid thing. Im going to take a stab in the dark here but have either of you got richmods? if so that valve will be buggerd. what you need is a pair of VW 710n dump val...

Re: ECU Colour & Richmod
No no no what i was trying to say was if you have a red ecu you want a red richmoded ecu, as your car is a 90 reg a blue ecu wont work so your going to have to hold out and wait for a red richmod to turn up, or see if anyone is going to do a trip to see rich. Sorry to say but the richmods are popula...

Re: ECU Colour & Richmod
I have an auto and used to test rich mods the ecu makes absolutly no differance what so ever! the ecu colours are whats important!! Not the if it's manual or auto. (i have a 440 turbo automatic with a blue ecu richmod!) Also what year is your car? as if you have a red ecu i wouldnt change it for any...

Re: Super Rich Mod
Right im going to take a stab in the dark here, sadly rich very rarley reads the forum now, infact acording to the forum info he hasnt logged on for 2 years now! I would say use the standard cam, see how it runs and then fit the "E" cam and then see how it runs. then choose the one you think runs be...

Re: Hello :) , mbc, bov, gauge
I wouldnt bother fitting the 710N to a factroy standard car unless the current recirc valve is fluttering (sounds like it's "blowing off" more than once in quick sucsession) this is due to the fact that the wastegate wont open quick enough for the lower boost so may cause the turbo to stall, plus th...

Re: Best Gearbox
All 400 series turbos came with an info center and electrical speedo. only the very early 440's had a mechaical one and i doubt theres any of these left on the road now, infact i would say the 440/460 turbos are appearing to be rather more rarer than the 480 turbos now (been looking for another 440 ...

Re: Hello :) , mbc, bov, gauge
also a bov just isnt recommened, when it dumps to atmosphere it confuses the ecu as it has already allowed for the recirc air so the fueling isnt correct, this could potentialy damage your engine. Hm, this information is new to me. How could it damage the engine? I heard the stock dump valve can al...

Re: Advice please.
diag box is uesless in the turbos. it isnt connected to the ecu. sounds like a problem i had. check for airleaks on all the pipework AFTER the MAF, also check the working condition of the ICV and the diaphram valve on the end of it, also check what condition the dump valve is in as these where all k...

Re: Hello :) , mbc, bov, gauge
ok, from what i can make out you already have a richmodded ecu. therefore you cant get anymore boost out of the t2 turbo that the engine is fitted with as stock. an mbc wil do nothing but make it run worse. also a bov just isnt recommened, when it dumps to atmosphere it confuses the ecu as it has al...

Re: 3k idle on volvo clio, cuts out when accelerator pressed
well i think you have answered your own question! get a jerrycan of petrol in the tank and then try it! also check the fuel pump relay is working (dont know clio wiring at all but it might have a relay like the volvo). also does the fuel pump in the cliuo have a high enough delivery rate? if not it ...

Re: 3k idle on volvo clio, cuts out when accelerator pressed
ok new exhaust fitted, 1, is the exhaust leaking? 2, is the lambda sensor connected? 3, is the throttle position sensor set correctly? 4, is the idle contorl valve set correctly? 5, is the mass air flow meter connected properly (if mine isnt connected it wont idle well and cuts out on acceleration)?...
