Re: Engine runs on - won't stop !!!! Help.

Sounds to me like the bodyshop that did your footwell repair wasnt that good! they have forgot to remove the battery earth and disconect the ecu before doing the weld. this is most likely to of been the cause of the ecu failure. Has happend to other forum members before in the past. When i did a loa...

Re: Engine runs on - won't stop !!!! Help.

Another couple of fuses to check are hidden behind the main fusebox (or at least ive got 2 hidden there on my 440) 1 i assume is for my aftermarket alarm system, havent a clue what the other is for? Check to see if you have any fuses hiding there and if removal of any of those makes a differance (wh...

Re: Engine runs on - won't stop !!!! Help.

Right From this wiring diag (i know it says 440/460 but this circuit is the same in a 480) There is only 1 relay that connects the main +tive from the battery to terminal 15, the relay i said. i would say you have got a short somewhere if this relay is not disengaging! http://volvo.ic.cz/elektro/ori...

Curing 440's Rear arch rust (may take time to load)

Ok well the rust on my rear arch reached the point where i decided it cant be ignored anymore! and good job i did do it as the inner arch was also on it's way out. (it wouldnt of lasted this winter and would of required too much work to repair for the mot in march!) So the first 2 pics what the arch...

hi revs when warm. Set base idle sto 700 - 800 rpm (ill search for the thread that explains this) Is the lambda sensor working correctly? look in the how to section for a "how to check your lambda sensor" thread is the cold start sensor working correctly? Is the throttle position sensor adjusted cor...

Re: car doesnt start

BUGGER PRESSED WRONG BUTTON!!! NOW GOT TO RE WRITE POST!! :badmood: OK, now fuel + no spark would suggest despite it being new the flywheel sensor is at fault. check it with a multi meter for a resistance of 220 ohms +/- 60 ohms. If it's ok try a diffrent ecu (see if the car responds then?) If it st...

Re: which ecu colours s-richmod are compatible with a RED ecu

if he has a red atm then a red is the best replacment, it's a crossover turbo so the wiring might not be correct for the blue ecu to work. i would only recomend you replace the ecu with one the same colour as the one you have, then the fuel ecu is matched to it! I do not recomend mixing diffrent ecu...

Re: b18ft non starting

1. Check the resistance of the crank sensor is 160 - 280 ohms. 2. if the resistance is within spec remove the sensor and clean it. 3. if the above doesnt help replace the dist cap and rotor arm with new ones! (yes they do fail after a while, i always replce them when i do the plugs, as when i bought...

Re: b18ft non starting

suggest you try a new pair of ecus. also run a compresion test on the motor to make sure you havent got a duff engine. But before doing that put a volt meter on the battery and crank the engine over, let me know what voltage the battery falls to. if the voltage goes under 11v the ecu wont work and i...

Re: 480bhp from a volvo 480 now come on stop lying!!!!

volvo 480, yeah it was the original renault 1.7 block, but the head was a modified 2ltr one, uprated the turbo to a garret one off the sierra (T3?) added a super charger ...rewrote the software for the ECU, complete re design on the exhaust, modified quaif 6 speed gear box with a RWD output plus lo...
