Re: Blinky 51/480

Oh I'm sure they're going to come back with a list of stuff that needs replacing... I once had a car MOT'd by kwik fit. I was a tester at the time, and never tested my own cars - always better for a second pair of eyes. The failed it for "leaking shocks" but luckily, they had an offer on, which mean...

Re: Blowing warm air

A pair of small cable ties is a decent solution. Just as fiddly to install though! :D

Re: A pool 480?

Incidentally, when I set up the Paypal money pool, my first thought was to not show the names / amounts as I am very aware that a lot of people will be feeling insecure in their jobs or may indeed already have become unemployed. I would have preferred not to embarass anyone, but then decided that i...

Re: A pool 480?

Thinking about this a bit more, we could rescue other wedges even if only to create a large parts pool which members could have access to. Its a noble cause - I know that there's a similar thing happening for the Lancia Gamma club (now there's a car that rots!). They save all vehicles, then strip t...

Re: Is this a Club in the eyes of an insurer?

My 480's are insured with ClassicLine.

Limited mileage policies on both (have never come close to that limit though! ). They simply mirror the no claims from my daily (for both polices), which means that whilst the 480's don't generate any NCB of their own, they're very reasonable to insure!

Re: A pool 480?

Al is happy to volunteer to use the Saab to take a car trailer down to collect the car and return it to Jiff. I'm happy to volunteer to act as treasurer if we set up a rescue group (retired accountant). We are also willing to make a donation towards the purchase price and parts needed to get it run...

A pool 480?

We discussed this a while ago, so here we go again.... I've the opportunity to save what looks like a very solid 480; its owner has tried to sell it (for a reasonable figure), and is now running out of time & patience, and is on the verge of breaking it for parts. Now ask yourself would you break th...

Re: '94 S in "popular" green met

Well....

Looks better than most of the recent ones!

The only worry is the "bottom half respray in 2016" - I'd be taking a lucky fridge magnet along to see if that included the rear arches....

Its different from mine, as I've got 3 flyleads....

I could have nutter/utterly bonkers/reset

I suspect yours is just a reset. I've got instructions I can send you from Robou himself on setting the auxiliary bits up?

As above; when it stopped, what was going on on the dashboard? Warnings lights everywhere or completely blank?

Check battery terminals - make sure they’re clean and tight fitting.

Thumping the dash is never a good fix; leads to broken plastics before long! Get it over to brinkie!
