Re: Rough running

sounds like its got lazy.it will run better with a new sensor. it will be on safe backup (underfueling) without pluged in.

Re: Rough running
get that filter in and see if it aint gone. lambda sensor. has haeting element to work. if its got slugish might only be working on heat from long drive. how does it go with the throttle full open, speed doesnt matter.

Re: for sale stainless exhaust ,radiator, towbar.
it came off a 1.7 but it has no front joint so can be made to fit either. it had been just clamped to a straight pipe with no cat. thats why im selling cheap. any exhaust place such as longlife will be able to make a suitable end joint if using a cat. it has 2 inch pipe and free flowing boxes so won...

the pads might have worn down to the metal backing plates and stared catching on the wear lip of the discs. check the pads asap. if so you could wreck the discs as well.

Re: dead volvo 480 gt 2.0l
its crank sensor not cam sensor. cant bypass it because the ecu wont know where the engine is. the only way to test is with a known good sensor unless you have an oscilloscope. could be a dead coil.

Re: dead volvo 480 gt 2.0l
there should be +12v, ground and the signal from ecu(dont know what voltage thats is could be 5 or 12). there is no cam sensor by the way. the ecu picks the engine timing from the crank sensor, on the flywheel near the clutch lever. a faulty one will stop the ignition.

Re: [480T] MAF to MAP conversion-is it possible?
not easy with the standard ecu. the difference being a maf measures the actual airflow with a heated element while a map measures the manifold pressure and then the ecu has to use a lookup table of revs against manifold pressure to get the airflow. this is because the volumetric efficiency changes (...

Re: wanted airbox pipe.
whats the asking price cheers. can you post a pic. i managed to get one of my car with the pipe on. wanted one for years. cheap replacements always go through at the bend and drop onto the road on my cars before the rest is even rusty. only had to cut the smallest piece of plastic from the skirt whe...

sound like the same sort. its a witter i think. could you do or have done a welding job on it to shorten the \ / arms and cut a little bit in the skirt for the bar to poke out. sorry i cant be of any help. i used to have scramblers several years ago. pulled them with a 340 though so no grounding.

Re: Engine cut out during MOT
first i would check the alternator is putting out about 14 volts as you hit that as well. if it was cranking ok its not likely though. with the coil supply do you mean the centre ht lead, when coils fail they are sometimes ok when they are cool but stop working when they warm up from running. the lo...

Re: wanted orignal tow bar
have you any pics of the type. i have one (non original) but it doesnt go under the wheel well. i cant see it hitting the ground.i would take a picture but ive removed it. it goes across behind the rear fog lights. the only part lower than the rear bumper bottom was where the bar comes out. i may tr...
