having ran lowered and now standard springs with stiffer dampers this is the better way to go.dont forget the standard springs are sporty compared to most car. it sounds like a fuel issue to me.if it runs the ignition must be firing.the wron amount a fuel would play havoc with idle.things i would check are the lambda sensor if you have a cat. the cat can melt and block the exhayst if its gets any unburnt fuel on it when hot.
