Re: GJ's mega clearout of spares for sale

Jim - I'll take the remaining arm if that's still there, plus the other bits I mentioned. Let me know total + P&P by PM and I'll PayPal it over. Trevor - I'll make a note of your username. I used to see a couple of cars in the Oxfordshire area semi-regularly until about 5 or 6 years ago (although I...

Re: GJ's mega clearout of spares for sale

I'll take a pair of seatbelt arms, a popup relay and a pair of DRL bulb holders, if you have them. Will the remainder of the stuff be dumped at some point if no-one takes it? Seems a shame if so as the community will lose a very valuable resource for spare parts. My suspicion is that the vast majori...

Re: DRL & Pop-Up Problems

Yeah - what I meant by point 10 is that the bonnet switch is working normally, in other words they headlights don't retract with the switch open, but do with it closed, so I am discounting it as a source of the problem.

DRL & Pop-Up Problems

I'm having some problems and I would be much obliged if anyone could shed some light (sorry!) on them. I'll try to provide as much information as possible here: Symptoms: 1. Left DRL works in 21w mode but not 4w mode. Right DRL fine in all modes. 2. Pop-ups won't raise. If manually raised they will ...

Re: For sale oil pressure sender unit + bracket

How much are you asking?

I salvaged the gauges from my old car but it never occurred to me to save the sender so my oil gauge hasn't done much for a while!

Re: Sudden (no) Starter Problem

I don't know how similar a 480 is to a tractor, but when one of those needs starting and you don't have the key, a spanner, screwdriver or something equally conductive placed across the bolts on the solenoid usually does the trick!

Re: Post-92 Relay Layout

Thanks - I'll save that diagram in my 480 folder for future reference. I think I can rule out an earthing problem since they both work in bright mode (headlights down and off), but only one works in dim mode with the headlights on, so if there was no earth I wouldn't expect it to work at all. If I s...

Post-92 Relay Layout

Does anybody have any information? I've found several for pre-92 cars but none for the newer ones. My pop-up motors are doing nothing and one of the DRLs is only working in 21w mode, so I have my suspicions about it. The pop-up relay is pretty obvious and it along with the fuses seem to be fine, but...

Re: For Sale - a few Celebration parts

I'll take the headlight surrounds and the trim panels - the fancy paint job on the door cards and dash strips in my GT probably looked great in 1994, but the passage of time (and the sun) have not been kind to them! I've sent a PM with my details.

There are plenty on eBay, not the cheapest items however. Might be worth waiting to see if someone has one in their parts bin!

Re: Steering Wheel Compatability

Thanks - I suspected as much!

Time to find someone breaking a pre-airbag car then...

One more question - if I change the steering column would I lose the ignition as well, and thus need two keys (one for the doors and one for the engine?)

Steering Wheel Compatability

I have a 2-spoke wheel that I'd like to fit to my '94 car with an airbag. I recall that fitting a Momo wheel can only be done in a pre-airbag car unless you change the steering coloumn, is the same true for the Volvo 2-spoke wheel?

Interested in the boot and glovebox lights - I'm working on some footwell lighting and it looks like I just missed out on your other thread! How much do you want for the CEM and VEM? Both of mine are fine at the moment but I did have a CEM go in my previous car which took it off the road until I fou...

Re: Centre Console Cubby Removal/Aux Gauge Installation

Is this the correct oil pressure sender? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380876333327 It could be - I also found this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200776082110?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT As far as I am aware the engines on the 440 and the 480 are virtually identical so i...

Re: Centre Console Cubby Removal/Aux Gauge Installation

Thanks for the suggestion - in the end I get around it by popping off the left hand side of the dash just far enough to give me access to the screws holding the VEM in place, which I removed, allowing me to drop the VEM just far enough to allow the cubby to slide out. Why it has those two giant plas...
