Re: Volvo 480 Turbo from Siberia

I know a lot of westernn cars started a new life in Russia after the Cold War, I am so glad to hear there is a community, or at least individuals preserving them. It sounds like you would have had to get very creative in order to keep this car going, maybe even...

Re: From Norfolk to North Wales - SJ's 480S
Hi there Jim, this was where I lurked before entering the beige! You have a really nice one there, glad to see someone is saving the base models, and you don't hang about either! What you said about going with a straight negotiating tactic will definitely come in useful for me, I have my eye on a hi...

Re: 1990 Turbo Auto - VOL 480T
On watching the video, this case is a bit different to mine, whereas in my case it sounds like a creaking noise of tiredness, that one sounds like something is loose, which could be a case like James said of the shock not quite fitting properly...

Re: 1990 Turbo Auto - VOL 480T
This is very similar to mine, and yes there is a creaking noise that can be heard sub-40mph on smooth roads, I think mine does need new shocks, especially after 6 months of going over the killer speedbumps at my college... It is almost certainly the shocks, especially if they are a bit old like mine...

Re: Your Input Required: What to Look For Buying a 480.
I can offer my experience for the early 1.7s (B18E): - Most powerful 1.7 N/A engine, with no real performance difference with the 2l - Build quality tends to be a bit higher, but trade off with more foibles (less in production improvements) - Mechanical parts are easy to source as they are common is...
