removing the bumper gives the best access. Obviously, this comes with its own issues, but I think you've already battled those!

Remove lower dash panel, remove glovebox. Remove screws and wires from heater motor.

It shouldn't.....

I've found that 99% of the time, pulling the heater out, scooping all the dead leaves and crap out, then putting some fresh grease on the the fan bearing gives a wonderfully silent, non-squeeking heather blower.

Its about an hours work.

The vinyl of the door card unsticked on many places. This is why the textil card didn't fit properly in position with the plastic clips and was glued.
