Re: Wanted: Rear Engine Mount
Sylvia Maybe the change in parts number is when they changed to the longer clutch lever (ie the wee bit of plate bolted to the end of the lever on the later cars?) Both my cables are 6mm threaded, and I'll need to have a look at the pedal end :-) the fittings around the clutch lever (at box) can be ...

Re: Wanted: Rear Engine Mount
I have a spare cable in car so can measure it if you want, but TBH I just 'assumed' it was the correct one, liberated it from a wreak and unknown engine size (likely a 1700) but at least then if I do , somebody can tell me I've been carrying a 1700 around for last ten years :-) I broke one on previo...

Re: Gas struts for pop-up headlights
'Freely' not free. Free and EBay are mutualy exclusive anyway although a pair for £15-20 is better than having to prop up the lid with a wooden pole when you work in the boot. You can borrow it for your wife if you want:) are you suggesting I use the wooden pole to allow Mrs to keep lid open or han...

Re: sunroof possible leaks
Thanks for the image, that is much crisper than the version i could see on the Volvo parts list, but still can't see why the water appeared at the edge of the roof (above drivers door) :( the headlining all appeared dry and water didn't seem to be spilling over the 'visible' plastic tray (29) which ...

I can turn the airline pressure down to a mere 'puff' :D Had a VERY quick look this AM (before hail sent me in) and it's maybe coming in at the back edge where the metal (or rather lack of) meets the rubber surround/seal :-( i'll try and get a photo and try and remember how to post them :-) I've fix...

torrential rain today and when slowing down/stopping got a shower of water that came from the join in the plastic trim above the drivers door, about 100mm from top edge of screen does this seem like an area where the water would come from if drains were blocked? can't see why it would come in there ...

Re: Wanted: Rear Engine Mount
Do you still have the 'broken one? If it was me I'd fit a 'normal' Ford Capri and add an extra hole into the base of the original mounting plate :-) like these https://www.tickover.co.uk/shop/contents/en-uk/d191.html fro a tenner maybe worth a punt? or any similar items, you only need to get the hei...

I fixed my broken washer (front) jets by simply drilling a 6mm hole into each half and stuffing a section of 6mm airline to effect a join, advantage is easy removal to clean any debris out of the jets

watch / take care of the pipes at the fuel filter!
the valve clearance isn't straight forward as it means pulling the cam-shaft AFTER you've checked all the clearances then looking for shims/ buckets.
dunno if the shims are still available

Re: Heater matrix removal on a '95
wiggle it, just a little bit!!!! seriously I managed to get an old style matrix (with pipes attached) out and the new style plastic header tank variety back in. there are two steel steadies that need to be removed. I cut the carpet along top of tunnel to move away to each side and pulled the plastic...
