I saw -6.5 in the Octavia on thursday, Amy saw -8 in the 440. Both started instantly (well I would hope a 10 week, 7,000 mile car would do!) although we are having problems with frozen washer jets. Our water pipes in the loft keep freezing, leaving us with no hot water etc, at the moment we've got t...

The lucas part number is 566 - any automotive shop will know what you mean - in fact halfords part numbers are the same, theirs will be HB566

Also note that the little booklet thing they have in halfords is wrong!

And the high beam light was blue. - much less glary than the later white ones, as well as of course the red bars at bottom of fuel guage.

I'd like to see how these people fare after the apocolypse! They'd probably sit at home and starve waiting for rescue instead of fending for themselves. I'm waiting for the revolution - only thing that I'm worried about is securing a water supply - boiled ditch water doesn't really appeal......

You really wouldn't want to trust operation of the airbag to a repaired one! Not that it could be repaired really, its like a ribbon of copper. Best bet is to get one from a scrap car, check the manual for the exact number of turns etc and use the locating screw provided to hold it until the wheel i...

Did you allow the wheel to spin/turn before putting it all back on again? The wheel turns 3.4 (IIRC) lock to lock. There is a copper coil behind the wheel, that carries current to the airbag. this tuns 6.8 (IIRC) turns lock to lock, i.e there is plenty of spare coil in normal use. With the wheel cen...

Problem is though, I thought I had obeyed them yet they pulled it for a listing breach but failed to tell me which of their petty rules i had breached. Hence I just clicked relist - done.

So already we have two conflicting opinions on why e-bay pulled a listing. Whats galling is that e-bay also don't tell the seller! (at least in my experience) leaving me to list it again with an identical listing, which thankfully this time around they didn't take exception to. (or find, i don't car...

I've never needed to drop the petrol tank, what are you guys doing?? @ SteveR - if you take the old unions into a motor factors to make doubly sure, they will match them up for you. As JT says I'm pretty sure they are standard 10mm ones, anyhoo, they are literally only pence each so not worth reusin...

The spare is NOT part of the test.

If your car fails on the spare then the tester is clearly a moron.

Likewise there is no requirement for the rear wiper to be working.
