Re: Volvo 480 (GT?) For Sale
Is a moonroof the same as a sunroof? I’ve heard a lot of people talk about a moonroof on here and wondered if it was different in anyway to the sunroof I have on my TT From one pic of your car I could see the roof on I suspect your TT has the “moonroof” unless you have something aftermarket fitted....

Re: Volvo 480 (GT?) For Sale
Looks like an ES to me. The GTs had a locking rear centre storage compartment (I think). Maybe it was mis-described as a GT on the DVLA database and someone saw that as an opportunity to convert their ES to a GT. I know that my Vase green Two-Tone is officially 'Blue' according to the DVLA.

Re: William's 1993 480ES Two-Tone
Did a few odd jobs to SGO this week. First I de-badged it, as I'd rather have no badges than broken ones (still after some Limited Edition and 2.0i badges, mind) https://i.ibb.co/NtB27Fv/D5-D1-DF40-ED5-B-481-A-8-C87-6030-E24-CB3-B6.jpg Thanks to @dcwalker who sourced me a replacement passenger door ...

Wanted: 480 Door hinge pin
Hello,
Because my passenger door has dropped, I'm after a hinge pin. I have absolutely no idea what size to get or anything, so if anyone could point me in the direction of where to get a replacement, that would be great. Even better if anyone has one for sale
Thanks

Re: William's 1993 480ES Two-Tone
Haha, but good news all 480 glovebox looks like they’ve has been burgled unless they really have only be used to gently carry one pair of gloves! Nice fix though. Oh, and the heater slider knobs were grey originally, you are right, but quite a light colour. Welcome aboard by the way! :-) thanks for...

Re: William's 1993 480ES Two-Tone
Today I did a couple of small fixes to the interior. Instead of shelling out £20 for a pair of new heater control knobs, I thought I'd have a go at recycling my existing ones. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of them before, but trust me when I say they were absolutely DISGUSTING . Originally w...

Re: William's 1993 480ES Two-Tone
I have heard that the 2.0 TTs are quite rare a couple of times, which makes me love my 480 even more! I had a look on 'Howmanyleft. com' and it said 4 are MOT'd. (I don't know how accurate that site is, though) I keep a register of rare editions, and actually agree with howmanyleft - just 4 taxed 2...

Re: William's 1993 480ES Two-Tone
Hey William, you have found yourself a great two tone there. Congratulations. Front spoiler is present & correct and the rear lights only look a polish away from greatness. What a great foundation. Sorry about your "Ed Edition" badge.... but on the plus side, I think it's in the wrong place anyway....

Re: William's 1993 480ES Two-Tone
Hello William, Welcome to the club ! That's a great choice - as you've no doubt gathered the 480 is a really fun car to drive, and the 2 litre two-tones are few and far between. There aren't many two tones at all, and they are mostly 1.7s so you've done well to grab a rarity by sheer chance. It's a...

Re: William's 1993 480ES Two-Tone
Hi there, nice to see a fellow young 480ist! Like you I also bought mine as my first car (ok technically) when I was 16. I did the whole learning to drive saga in it, and passed last October in it. They really are great cars, and as a classic first car they are the ultimate when it comes to beating...

William's 1993 480ES Two-Tone
Hello all, I've made a few posts on here already, but haven't properly introduced myself to the forum. I'm 17, based in Surrey and just bought a 480 as my first car! I've been interested in cars all my life and have been browsing the web and doing hundreds insurance quotes for potential first cars s...

Re: Wanted: Various bits & bobs
- The piece of plastic that covers the bonnet release lever in the passenger footwell. The actual lever part or the plastic surround? - Boot courtesy light housing (mine just hangs loose due to a snapped clip) Probably got one of those floating about. - Centre high brake light gasket It's just buty...

Re: W917/1 or W917 Oil filter?
I’m an idiot. The oil filter that came with the car was a W917/1. After trying to fit it for a solid 20 minutes, I can confirm that a W917 DOES NOT fit. I need to order a new W917/1 instead.

W917/1 or W917 Oil filter?
Hello, Just went to change the oil filter on my car and 5l worth of brand new magnatec oil just ended up on my driveway due to the new oil filter spraying the oil everywhere :wall: I’ve noticed that the oil filter that came with the car is a W917, but the part I ordered from Amazon (which was descri...

Re: Wanted: Various trim bits & bobs
This one isn't a necessity, but I'd love to retrofit an oil pressure & voltmeter gauge below the radio, so does anyone know how much they're worth? (I'm specifically after one with a blank over the Turbo gauge as mine is a 2.0) The volt meter will work when you plug the gauge cluster in and the wir...

Hello all, I am looking for the following: - 'Limited Edition' badge for a 480 ES TT (the 'Limit' part on mine has fallen off and gone missing) - '2.0i' badge (the 'i' has gone missing on mine) - The piece of plastic that covers the bonnet release lever in the passenger footwell. - Boot courtesy lig...

Re: Wanted: Passenger side wing
can save you a call - Lakes have nothing! Having seen a picture of your wing on facebook, there doesn't appear to be any rot damage - have you spoken to any dent people to see if they can repair what you've got? I haven't yet, as I was just putting the feelers out there just to see if anyone had a ...
