And i think that volvo should have build this car rwd at the beginning. So i just have to do it myself :) /Best Regards Fredrik If you are looking for big power then this is the way to go. Anything much over 200bhp and front wheel drive is insanity on wet roads. I was a good way to planning a 4 whe...

Is the car used for short trips mosty? If so then oil contamination is a possible problem. Taking the car for a good hard run, using full throttle may help. Also try STP fuel system cleaner, add the whole bottle to 1/4 tank of fuel, and drive the car hard. Then change the oil, and see if the stealer...

Any sensible offer will be fine.

I think you mean the pulsaion damper in the actual fom filled part? You can test it by seeing if there is oil leaking. If the diapram breaks oil will run down the fron of the engine... I suspect it isn't broken. The little one way valve dies and forces air from the manifold into the breather, that c...

i think the turbo too big for the engine, or the A/R is inapropriate, maybe a hibryd turbo with correct turbine/compressor wheel match is your answer. Agreed, the turbo is completly wrong for the engine. To up the RPM limit, you need to do lots of stuff.... Cams, the standard cam won't be any good ...

Ofcourse I believe you if you say that there should be some sort of no return mechanism in it. Should the rubber thing be in the small hole in the pipe to the manifold or also in the other small hole? I've had three used valves which all let air through from the manifold side. So all of them are br...

car still has this problem, been told a few different things which it could be first lets rule out the temp sensor i have changed it. been told might be a worn camshaft or a tight tappet also been told its fuel evaporation from the engine. starts fine from cold but once the engine been ran for a fe...

Your information about the valve on the oil separator doesn't seems to apply for the one I took apart to see how it works. There is a direct connection between the manifold side and the oil separator side. It's a small hole and pressuring the crankcase isn't possible as there is a big opening to th...

I'll echo the above. This problem is most often caused by the TPS being either poory adjusted, or just plain broken. It should be heard to click just as you move the throttle a fraction open. If not try putting a bit of pressure the other way, if it clicks, and with the engine running the idle goes ...

The dipstick tube is just pressed into the block. First thing to try is slacken off the bracket bolt, and give the top of the tube a sharp tap down (use a block of wood so you don't bend the top of the tube) with a hammer. It may sort it. If that doesn't help, then remove the tube by undoing the bra...

wow! nice explanation! Is this for LH2.2 or LH2.4? what are the differences? The 480 ecus are not exactly like any other LH system, the Porshe 928 is the only other car I know of with these ECUs (they are clearly not identical, but near enough to use the same diagnostic gear from Bosch) The fuel EC...

This could be the crank position sensor, the hall effect sensor output drops when warm, and can lead to a misfire. Autos are particularly prone to this, as the sensor 'reads' a thin steel plate not a flywheel.

Try swapping the sensor and see if it helps.

I agree, Volvo genuine parts will be no problem. I have literaly knocked the pistons out of an engine or two while testing, and the headgasket always held. Standard bolts are more than good enough. For my mad, near 400 bhp project I used a standard head gasket, so I can't see you having any issues. ...

There is only one problem and thats the driving axles, they break. What kind of driving axles are you using / did you use? Never got round to solving that. Mine broke also :( I also busted a gearbox, but that was solved. I did have access to lots of spares but that is about all for the driveshafts....

Still thinking it's strange when everything works fine with the original ecu... I mean, when a sensor is broken / dodgy or something in between, it shouldn't work with the original ecu should it? Or are the sensors more severe loaded (don't know how to put this in 'proper' English...) with the tune...
