No I'm not, but not far away. I've been there alot with my beetle and Type 3. Never actualy gone down the strip, but I recon my 480 would be fully worthy! There are quite alot of RWYB's, we should get together for one and have a 480 track day!!!

Can anyone tell me the correct way of getting to the drivers seat belt in my 1990 480? SO don't want to break anything!

Did you buy a new replacement? If so how much? My 480 is called Lucy!

Hello, just failed my MOT. Most easily sorted, but the seat belt does not retract properly. Anyone else had ths prob? If so is there an solution?!

Hello mate , well, hopefully that will sort my problem. The wire has insulting tape all over it! My 480 has it's MOT 2morrow so I'll see what turns up and sort it all out then. Thank you for your reply

Good evening! My rear and front wipers have a mind of their own. The wire going into the boot has had it, but how can I tell it is that and not the CEM or rely? Finally sorted! The mirror glass did indeed pop off, just like the later ones. So no need to change the whole thing Cheers for all your help, Rachel.

Thanks Steve. If I change the whole unit, I run the risk of it not working, do you know where the wing mirror plugs in so I can test it first? I guess it must be under the dash somewhere, I haven't looked very hard yet!

Mine is the early type though, would it be as easy? Is there a certain side or place to try prising? Sounds like it's going to be so easy to break the glass....this will be me if it does....

Had a mare trying to get replacement wing mirror glass, so I went to the scrapy. I got hold of a complete wing mirror and so now I have two options I guess.
