I'll have a look and see what warning lights are on them - they will mostly be from late 2 litre models but Robert will adjust anything that is wrong for a Celebration anyway. I'll pm you.
And I pmed you :)

Can you all stop adding shiny things to your car that, in return, make me want to add shiny things to mine?!

Re: Throttle body

Funny enough it has not repeated the symptoms so washed the Juke instead :)

It will happen again so should make some time tomorrow to have a look around. Hopefully it will be simple fix/clean :)

Right

Moved over to Lancaster Insurance for Skip, the agreed valuation is £3,500. Better than "market value" with Churchill :)

Throttle body

Hi all Skip has finally started showing signs of erratic idling. Unfortunately the pics from this post https://www.volvo-480-europe.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=15569 are no longer visible. I would happily have a go at cleaning the throttle housing and and idle valve first but without pics I don't...

I doubt that. Long gone are the days of being ripped off by main stealers. As long as the service is done in accordance with the service manual your car can be serviced anywhere.

Am I missing something?

I picked up a trick recently. Cut the cam-belt lengthwise half way and remove it. place the new one and finally cut the old one off. No timing adjustment necessary.

Only applies if you are only changing the belt of course.

Well done for rescuing that one James - a genuine 'barn find' We are off to Glasgow on Tuesday and not back until Sunday so Al won't be able to help with the collection, but we can offer the use of a set of wheels with decent tyres from the pile of spares in our garage. Al will be in Thetford on Sa...

Excellent, Skip has 54200 miles on the clock but leather interior, I recon he is worth 9K then :)

Should have indicated this at valuation.

They are in for a shock I think. Would like to see pics.
