Well done Ben, or should that be "Your Excellency", given what a good 480 Ambassador you are proving to be?

Good item - keep up the good work!

Re: It's a Wedge Jim But Not As We Know It...

Thank you! To be honest, I am not entirely sure quite what works and what doesn't. When Indicating right, the indicator will tick over faster than can be expected, as if a bulb is out, however when the brake pedal is depressed, it will stop, and continue when the pedal is released. It is almost as i...

It's a Wedge Jim But Not As We Know It...

I had originally intended this topic title to be for the day I brought an Isuzu Piazza Turbo home, however today I picked up a new, entirely different toy, a 1986 Audi 80 Sport I had been after a quattro, but this one came up and while it was more than I was hoping for, it is rust free and should ma...

Well done Ben I really enjoyed this. There is also a possibility that Classic Car Weekly will be doing a piece on the rescue cars, here’s hoping. Ooh, I am in two minds over CCW. Sometimes the quality is hit and miss and I do find myself skipping a lot of it, but it is good for keeping a finger on t...

Haha, you kept that quiet! Very good. Car sounds great when he puts his foot down and some lovely camera angles showing the 480 off very nicely. Hope you negotiated a blast in the DeLorean! Apparently it had corrosion issues so couldn't be there for the shoot, ironic... https://i.postimg.cc/mgwC18s...

I LOVE the Late Brake Show! Great that the 480 is getting the recognition that it deserves. Is the owner of F69NLP on the forums? I think I saw a video of that car in a comparison with an Aero deck a while back. That would happen to be yours truly :D The aerodeck was my friend Martin's https://i.po...

Me too; they a virtually useless but the dashboard does look bare without them.
Not entirely useless: The first indication I had that my alternator had gone was when the voltmeter started flickering madly, its uselessness proving most useful in that case

I had no idea the Auxiliary Gauges were rare, I thought being Volvo that would be a big safety thing?

Re: William's 1993 480ES Two-Tone

Lastly, I resealed the long range lights as they both had significant amounts of condensation in them and that just got on my nerves. They are now crystal clear. I'm just praying that they stay that way when I wake up tomorrow morning and aren't all fogged up again! Oh they will!! I’m currently exp...

Looks like amazing progress, in terms of interior fixes you're ahead of me: had the car 2 years, got it from barn find to clean daily, still haven't done the heater knobs (or the back lights for that matter)

Also, the flipping bangers car is on here, owned by 100

10,000 miles driven

I did a similar post on my thread, but felt it really deserved its own topic  About a week ago, my speedometer flickered over onto a historic figure: 80,074. 10,000 miles prior, we fixed the speedometer leading to the quelling (mostly) of the biggest issue my car faced (non bodywork wise). To c...

Re: 1988 Volvo 480 ES - 10,000 mile anniversary

About a week ago, my speedometer flickered over onto a historic figure: 80,074. 10,000 miles prior, we fixed the speedometer leading to the quelling (mostly) of the biggest issue my car faced (non bodywork wise). To celebrate, here is a small roundup of a 10,000 mile story far more enjoyable than so...

Re: William's 1993 480ES Two-Tone

Hi there, nice to see a fellow young 480ist! Like you I also bought mine as my first car (ok technically) when I was 16. I did the whole learning to drive saga in it, and passed last October in it. They really are great cars, and as a classic first car they are the ultimate when it comes to beating ...

Well this is excellent news! I am so happy for you guys :D While I have no experience of raising a child myself, as a former child I can say that you will have some amazing times! Just be careful about what influences you expose them to - My father still hasn't lived down the fact that his firing up...

Re: 89 ES in need of Rescue

Provided it was a quick (1-2 week) turnaround, I might be able to do something for storage at my grandmother's field, but it will be outside and in Hampshire. I will chat with my father about it as my uncle is keeping a few boats there (you think 480s are big projects) so a wedge shouldn't be much o...

A lovely car and a true survivor. Been great to document the journey.

No, it's not goodbye, just bonjour.
Do you mean au revoir?
