Thanks for that!
It's really useful information and you are so right about reliability, I'm always sure to have it service and checked over before going.

Improving 2.0l for track days

Hello. I have been the proud owner of Celebration 108 for 2 years now and I have being slowly chipping away at the non mechanical jobs, to get it into the best shape I can. It is our only family car and is Faye is probably the main driver, I am usually in the transit. However since February I have d...

Re: Pud the Celebration - previously known as R2...

Hi David. That sounds like a plan, it would be nice to catch up and see what you've being up to. I've been doing a few jobs, replacing the seat belt arm we broke, replaced a cracked fog light today and in the first lockdown I treated the rear arches and resprayed, that was involved! It took two atte...

Re: Pud the Celebration - previously known as R2...

Wow David, your not shy of taking on a job are you! I'm sure you have it looking ship shape in no time. I have the same issue with my light not closing flush, it always bugged me but I think it looks worse when it closes too far. I've had a breif look at doing it when I first got it but couldn't wor...

Re: 480 spare parts (lots of)

I asked volvoman72 for some parts but he has stopped replying to me 😟 Very strange, I have always found him helpful. I think Nigel Poustie got some bits from him a couple of weeks ago I did order some parts from him and he was very nice on the phone. And said had post them on the Monday, it was Fri...

Re: front strut brace

Yeah, it still is my daily driver, so want the ride to still be okay.
I was just looking to be kind to the car and firm things up a bit.
I have obviously thought about the things you've said but not sure the family would thanks me.

Re: front strut brace

No it's standard, speaking to my machanic and he said it would be a good first step to firm things up and then maybe bigger wheels. Which would work quite well just for track days, save tyres for normal road use?

Re: front strut brace

I have done a track day in mine and it was brilliant! So got the bug a bit. It great through the corners but there's a fair amount of body roll. Just hoping to firm things up

Re: front strut brace

Does anyone know where/how I can get hold of a strut brace for a 2.0L I saw a thread from 05 where someone called Lee was making them. I don't surpose that still the case but has anyone got any other knowledge.

Re: The waterfalls mini meet

Hi David, Yes the odometer is still working, thanks! I’ve just done a Trackdays in it, it was brilliant and thankfully the car survived with no issues. It has got me thinking though, the brakes could be better, and a bit of a stiffer ride would have made it even better through the corners. I was jus...
