Re: Celebration 403

Yes Jeff you are correct a museum piece it certainly is at 77kms You missed the point; it’s nothing to do with mileage or maintainence; it’s a museum piece as the vehicle has no VIN numbers, thus cannot be legally registered. It was originally a gift from Volvo to a technical college I believe. Low...

For those looking for absolute perfection there is a 480 for sale in Belgium with 77kms for £19000
Which also remains unsold, because members have pointed out that it had never been registered for the road, and as such, is purely a museum piece, which would never be legally permitted on the road.

Re: May 23rd Virtual Mini Meet

Jay-Kay-Em If it was a tie break, what was the weight of a seat, headlamp and boss? Jeff didn't get round to to the weight, so you would have won, Al's scales made it 13.5kg so your 14.45kg was closest I did! I guessed 16.7kg! So you still beat me! was a good fun day - despite me doing 480 maintena...

Re: Celebration 403

So, just to expand on my points. Tyres: Its a personal point, but I HATE cheap tyres; Yes, they're round. black and have legal tread depth; They'll get you through a MOT. For me, it shows poor maintenance. I do less than 1000 miles a year with my cars, and the tyres will be replaced probably due to ...

Re: May 23rd Virtual Mini Meet

Oh and everyone that entered a bonnet shot will get a prize.

Caveat is that aerosols are a bugger to post so you have to collect your prize at the next physical meet!

Re: May 23rd Virtual Mini Meet

Look at Tesla; should be perfect. Worse cars for reliability. Who the feck needs a door handle that pops out for you to operate it? It’s just asking for bloody trouble! Same goes with electric handbrakes. I’m convinced engine bays are designed to be as intimidating as possible to force you to take i...

Re: May 23rd Virtual Mini Meet

Hindsight certainly is a wonderful thing though... It's odd that "modern" cars should be perfect - Still a LONG way to go of course - And yet, even with all the improvements, we don't crave them like we do a wedge. For me, it's the perfect era of car; Advanced enough that we don't have to deal with ...

Re: May 23rd Virtual Mini Meet

Just noticed looking at the engine bays that the shock absorber struts are held in by bolts at the top, some are head at the top others are nuts at the top. Not very important but unusual. Andrew Simple explanation! They're all the same. The shocker absorber nut is covered by a plastic plate, that ...
