Re: Going to flush the coolant, advice needed.

You should check that the antifreeze is suitable for ''older'' vehicles, there was a change in specification of antifreeze/system requirements in general aboyt a decade and a bit ago

Never heard of the programme, does it make me sad that I just watched the clip Jim mentions?

I think that if you do a search of the forum you'll get plenty of results relating to swapping for vented brakes. A I recall from reading things in the past, you have to chnage the hubs...

Re: Outside Temp Sensor Problem

Personally, I don't have any pictures. Not sure I can say anything more helpful than the sensor literally is the backside of the centre of the volvo badge (not the one on the nosecone!) Not sure that you'll be able to see it any other way than going underneath the car and looking forward to the back...

Re: Outside Temp Sensor Problem

I belive that you're seeing the temperature that the infocentre gives when it has no signal. Possibly sensor/connection failure? The sensor is behind the Volvo badge on the front grille.

Re: Cylinder Head Bolts

On the fuel guage: I belive the fuel & temp guages tend to be a bit slow to move and not overly quantitative. The low fuel warning light is much more accurate. The guages are the same as the non-info 440/460, I had one of the former and even with a full tank it would take some time for the fuel guag...

Re: FOR SALE:- LED DRL lights old post revived by spammer

I think the MOT problem is that all of your front/white lights should be the same hue/colour as it were. Most of the LED lights give a very white light unlike old bulbs which is softer/yellower

Re: front strut brace

I think a well targetted search of the forum will yield you some information from some of the ''boy racers'' there used to be around on here the best part of a decade ago. Posts by martinholmesuk amongst others, or including the fabled car named 'vader' may be somewhere to start.

Re: CEM location

I have a funny feeling that the location was changed through the years, though I could be thinking of some other box. What I wrote is definitely correct for CEMIII/later cars.

Re: CEM location

On RHD cars it is behind +above the bonnet release catch, meaning its to the left of the glovebox. To get to the cem you can just pull the plastic bonnet release handle off, then theres one screw which holds the plastic trim on, once removed you can pull the trim off and gain access to the cem (held...

Re: Drive belt !

Thanks for the offer Jim, but it should be OK. The drive belts look in decent condition, just thought I may as well have them changed at the same time as the cambelt (which I had no record of being changed) If you come across them, many years from now, maybe you could enlighten us as to the a/c belt...

Re: Drive belt !

Well, I've not really got to the bottom of this. The partsbook does give information about the alternator belt, for a B20/manual/with aircon it should be a 3 track, 592mm in length. Oddly, I can't find any mention of the aircon belt in the partsbook. I've looked several times just to check that I've...

Oh, and in answer to your speed sensor location question, it is located in/on the gearbox. There is a picture in this link:

Re: Info Centre and Speedo - where to start?

Hi Chris, Have you tried giving the top of the dashboard a wee whack? Firstly, I've no idea on the rev counter front, but presumably it was a dodgy connection somewhere as it came back pretty quick. I had an infocentre problem where there was no backlighting, if you shone a torch on the display at t...
