Re: Resonance on exhaust around 2.000 rpm

I used to have a similar resonance, turned out to be a result one of the heat sheilds on the bulkhead being loose (pulled through rivet(s)).

Re: Pop Ups winking......

No specific fix from me, but there have been many a popup thread has popped-up previously so a search may give some pointers. One simple thing to check may be the front drls: do they have the correct bulbs/are they working fine (they can screw up the popups, somehow  ).

Re: New 480 Owner! for a bit...

Hullo there. The following link list the colours: http://www.volvo-480-europe.org/volvo480/colours.php Though I owned a GT in the 322 colour which was a 1994 M reg so maybe the table is not entirely accurate? The colour only came along in the last two years as far as I know, but was pretty popular. ...

Re: info center symptoms

They could have also disturbed the thin wire (earth? forget now) which connects to the alternator. If that connection goes the IC has all the information, the display is there but not illuminated properly. If you have a good look at the IC display and find that in fact there are characters being dis...

I recall someone (possibly mainland european) advertising one for sale up to about a year ago either on here or the volvo 480 facebook group. Don't think it sold so you could search those places for old posts....

Good luck with your restoration, sounds a low milage vehicle you have there - assuming the clocks have not been changed!

If you have your car nearby measure that for the plan view area as it fits in the boot! Depth about 7-8 inch

Re: Best oil etc.

Make sure you get an oil filter with a one way valve in it to stop oil draining out of it when the engine is off, Volvo filters have one, Halfords ones don't. I always use Castrol Magnatec 10W40 (2.0 N/A engine though)....

That's one lucky 480 you have there Rachel!

Re: Lula's adventures continue...followed by Whitney

Well, Seems I've been neglecting the diary. That's probably a good sign as it means there have been few problems, certainly none that I didn't know how to solve. Recently changed the exhaust, then over Christmas/New Year travelling the drivers side colour coded popup cover flew off while driving (wi...

Hi Jim,

Do you still have the pop ups from the (I think white) celebration? I could do with at least the right (UK drivers side) body.

Please pm me
