Anyone seen this?

WTF is the phrase that springs to my mind but I'm sure you'll all have your own opinions!

Re: 195/55/15 tyres vs 185/55/15s on a Celebration

I'm really interested in this right now as I'm going to have to replace all 4 corners real soon. I've noticed the difference in choice and price between the two sizes also. The handbook for my '94 ES lists two sizes like this so I'm a little confused. 185/60 R 14 H, 185/60 R 14 H 195/55 R 15 H Given...

Re: Cables not coming off from spark plugs...

Mine were a bugger to shift too. My approach to removing them without damaging them was to feed cable ties round the back of the side angled plug, form a loop with the tie and then using pliers on the loop and my free hand on the plug ease them off. That way you won't put too much strain on the 'cup...

Well the most was about £2500 but at moment I'm just chuffed that I've got it down from £800 a year to £362.

Re: Sealing the rear lights

Yeah...pop out the clusters, clean all the old gasket crap off as best you can with a stanley blade and then recreate them the best you can with the butyl. Screw the clusters back into position pretty tight and then go back in a day or two and tighten them up again. I'm fairly certain the butyl 'giv...

Re: Sealing the rear lights

I used this stuff.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOLT-ON-PANEL-SEALER-BUTYL-TAPE-ROLL-STRIP-SEALANT-BONDING-CARS-BOATS-VANS-/280993498856?pt=UK_Body_Shop_Supplies_Paint&hash=item416c8486e8 It seemed to take a while to 'take'. i.e. I had to go back and tighten the screws holding the clusters in a little...

Re: Delorean Lights?

The irony is that when they made the Delorean's they also made a massive amount of spare parts which are still readily available even now. Apparently there's enough to keep every existing Delorean going indefinitely. We can't even get rear clusters anymore!

Yup that's right. The distance between the top of the wheel arches and the tyres are slightly different.

Damper and springs question.

I'm gonna replace my front dampers and have been wondering, is it best practice to replace the springs at the same time? The ride height has always been uneven and I'm sure that one of the springs was replaced at some point and this is the cause. I'm assuming that replacing both springs will assure ...

Re: Fleabay purchases

Well I sent them a message saying I wouldn't be going ahead with my purchase due to Jamesy's problems. They responded by saying there's always two sides of the story which is fair enough but then threw in some personal insults which leads ne believe my instincts were right all along.

Cheers for the PM Jamesy. It is as I suspected! I guess the moral of the story is that if an ebayer looks too good to be true then they probably are!

Sorry to hear that. Care to share the sellers ebay ID? If not publically then could you PM me with it?

I'm on the verge of a deal as it happens...

Re: Which is the best 480?

Just a quick question for Glasgow Jim. Why your preference for the standard heater? As I don't have an air con model it's something that I envy in the GT's and Celebrations. Is it a matter of them being more trouble than they're worth? For the record the best 480 for me would be: A black 2.0 ltr tur...

I would second that. I had both my fronts replaced with new (from eurocarparts IRC) and it made a noticeable improvement to handling of the car.

Re: 24 valve 480.....possibly

From memory of my old 960 that's a 960 engine bay and one of the interior shots is of a 960 dash. The most generous interpretation of this is that the seller had photos of both and has mixed them up when placing the advert. I'm no expert but that engine is a helluva a lump and would probably be too ...

Re: Instrument cluster

I would concur with the fuel tank being calibrated in litres as when you start up in the 'secret mode' it will give a read out of how much fuel is in the tank in litres. If you missed that thread you turn the instrument selector switch to the first position and hold reset as you start the car. (This...
