Re: FOR SALE: ALLSORTS - SPARES, RARE THINGS, PERFORMANCE ETC

I bought it to go in my 1995 car, so it should be the new one. As I said, I've never unwrapped it since they day it came to me, so I havent seen it in the flesh as it were - I knew it wouldn't be needed for my project for a while, so left it wrapped to protect in storage.

FOR SALE: ALLSORTS - SPARES, RARE THINGS, PERFORMANCE ETC

Going to post this here too, for maximum coverage. No moaning that I'm spamming :P Yep, I'm having a clear out. Actually it's probably more than that, as I'm probably never going to have a 480 again... I've just cancelled my 2 projects, had a perfectly good Celebration (minus engine) go for tincans,...

FOR SALE: ALLSORTS - SPARES, RARE THINGS, PERFORMANCE ETC

Yep, I'm having a clear out. Actually it's probably more than that, as I'm probably never going to have a 480 again... I've just cancelled my 2 projects, had a perfectly good Celebration (minus engine) go for tincans, and so now it's time to continue the sort out, and this is the first wave of stuff...

Re: New version of the forum!

In the case of the autologin, you probably need to clear your browser's cookie list (and then immediately exit and reload the browser) - it will have stored cookies for the old forum.

In the case of avatars - will look into this shortly - just a setting missed I suspect

EDIT: Ta-da!

New version of the forum!

New version of forum software has been installed. The look and feel will probably be changed over the coming days, so don't worry that the topstrap and links to main site are currently missing.

But if anything else isn't seemingly working, let me know.

TY

My IFW HB510, which is designed for 2 heavy horses weighs 1 tonne unladen (hence using 1 tonne as an example above)

I dont see the new 611 or 511XL adding more than an extra 50KG to that

of course other brands of box are available ;)

I remember my 2.0 Celebration being distinctly unable to handle towing a horse box (empty, weighing max 1 tonne), cooking the brakes within 20 miles etc. The handbook will tell you the MAX weight for a braked trailer is 1000KG, and unbraked just 524KG - and rmember thats maximum when it's all fully ...

Word of warning about ebay...

A member of this very forum had their GT for sale on Ebay only a matter of weeks ago, in pretty nice nick etc.

It only got bids up to something rediculous like 150-200 quid...

Maybe you'll be lucky though... But not £800 worth! :)

Bit late here, but you'll remember from one of the Glasgow meets that I indeed has a V40 T4 (Y plate) and to be honest, it's the second best (most fun) car I have ever owned (with of course my Mitsubushi killer V70 T5 coming first). Handling was superb, turbo was very responsive and fast as f*** Peo...

Your problem with aftermarket ECUs is the map - you won't find a 480 map for them anywhere, and to make your own will mean you need to own at the very least a wideband sensor (££££££) along with a laptop and a friend to do stuff whilst you drive. Then it's hour after hour of drivin...

I had a new one in a box... with instructions too.

My thoughts on them are this - they look nice and "part of the car" when installed - but hate the view through them whilst driving.

So, nice in a show car, but not particularly practical in a daily runner.

I have to rev past 4000, to get the needle on the Turbo gauge beyond the factory max. charge point (go over 0,45 bar). Mine is the same. I think I read somewhere that rich designed the mod to start with 3/4 throttle. So with less than 3/4 throttle it is boosting to the factory level, and with more ...
