Re: Welcome Seymour
New standard bulbs would be perfect. LED’s give very directional light and can’t be dimmed. Plus, as mentioned, the amount of CCS that’s flooding the market means you’ll get a lot of practice pullling your dash out….

Re: Welcome Seymour
Wow. Looks like a nice car now you've fettled it. Top work. Which Lead's do you use for switches, and dashboard Jeff? Honestly, I’ve given up with LED’s now. The problem is trying to source decent ones. Everything seems to be the same CCS (Cheap Chinese Shite), so I’ve actually reverted now back to...

Re: Heater matrix hose replacement
I was talking to Samco about building replacement hoses.
They wanted £80 per bend for making the tooling, then you paid the price of the hose, and they retained rights to the tooling..
I suppose for a simple hose like that it may be worth it.

Re: Welcome Seymour
Minor Update: Obviously, Seymour wandered off to the Festival of the unexceptional , but apart from the occasional drive into work (where people are genuinely amazed by him), he's not really done anything. However, one thing that was apparent, was he'd need a new back box. And with the Stony Classic...

Re: Power Steering Fluid spec
I've managed to wiggle the cooler pipe down below edge of bumper and pulled off the hose there, after I emptied the reservoir at the top so minimal leakage (so far) . how on earth does the supply pipe come out, much wiggling & swearing? the car is fitted for 'Air-Con' so the pipe is ...

Re: Merry Christmas!
Bit late, but a merry Christmas to everyone. Apologies if I've been a little quiet this year; There's been some progress on some cars. I'll try and do some updating. The biggest problem I face is time; In between trying to make reproduction parts, helping people with their 480 issues, moderate here ...

Re: Loud whining
You can calibrate the infocentre/fuel gauge. If you’ve the 60 litre tank, you set it to 59 (so you’ve always a litre left whe. It says empty). If you’ve the 48 litre tank, set to 47.
I’ll go find the instructions on how to, but someone may beat me to it.

Re: Headlight brackets
It is correct that Volvo intended them as a sacrificial part, but it was a safety design in the event of collision with pedestrians. So probably not a good idea to use aluminium. Its the same reason that sunroof pins are made from plastic, or the window mech is plastic. If anything were to become t...

Re: Pop Up Headlight working inside out
Its the drivers side one that has the longer lead, just because there's a little more stuff to thread it around. As you've pointed out, you can use the same motor on either side. SGS engineering will do the struts, but they're quite expensive. The ones I use on the rescue cars are identical and a fr...
