Yes I believe you can repair the heated windows.
There are repair kits that are like a cooper paint that you can apply with a tiny brush.
Do a search on eBay for "window heather repair"

Been using 15W40 and sometimes 10W40. 10w40 is more liquid when cold but the same viscosity as 15w40 when hot. I keep in the 40 as it's the recomended viscosity.
