Aircon issues...

Hello again everyone :D I had my R134A aircon regassed after the MOT, considering it was literally completely empty and has been for a long time, the car held the vacuum for 10 minutes and then took the gas like a champ, giving me ice cold aircon and a big smile! :hopping: the idle increased and the...

Immobiliser & central locking problems - unable to start car

So I got the car all MOT’d yesterday and everything (more on this later), but since yesterday (despite nothing changing) I’ve been having issues with the immobiliser not working, or rather working, and leaving me unable to start the car. There seems to be an intermittent problem with the driver’s do...

Re: Number Plate Supplier

Try this website https://www.dmb.uk.com/cat/163/dealer-stickers They have lots of old dealer stickers and they used to show lots of old dealer stickers for their plates, I remember looking for an old golf before, might be with a try? Thanks to 89of490's recommendation, I contacted Dave and Kate at ...

Looking forward to seeing how the LED DRLs turn out, I'd like to see what the bulb assemblies themselves look like too if you have a photo/link. I'm still working on getting a convincing incandescent effect with mine, sounds like you are going for a more modern look though which will be easier colo...

Re: Oil on speed sensor

I got my drivers license in 1989 and got my B.Sc. in electronic engineering in 1994, but I really had no money for a Volvo 480. Should have studied for general manager or something in marketing and sales instead of learning a skill, that would have paid better  But skills are valuable, the fac...

Hopefully I will be able to make it to the ones later in the year though, although, I was certainly there in spirit Saturday beavering away in my own car! I managed to g...

Are all the front lights gone? Do you have the fogs and the driving lights left? Is the mirror/window switch still available? Some plastic clips for the load cover would be really useful too Thanks! :D Have probably got a pair of driving lamps if these have gone And a mirror/window switch too! Will...

Re: Oil on speed sensor

When the 480 could still be ordered new at the Volvo dealerships, I was getting a degree in electronic engineering, so I have learned a thing or two about how stuff works. Very nice, lucky you! What a fantastic skill!! :D I wish I could of been old enough to buy one at the time they were stil...

Re: The story of #89/480 continues...

Don't worry about the paintwork, yours won't be the only 'work in progress' ! Some are not even on the road yet so their owners come in their other car. There will be 2 more meets, Scotland 11th August (combine it with a holiday perhaps?) and Hampshire in October - probably the 6th but not confirme...

Re: The story of #89/480 continues...

Will we see you on 12th May? I would love to! I will do my best to make sure the car is MOT’d and ready in time! The only thing I find slightly discouraging is that I feel the state of the paintwork on the car really lets it down - it’s a lot better than it was now though, and I would certainly lov...
