Re: Wanted: 2.0 litre exhaust manifold

In my case its the lack of engine damping that does for them, I think the manifold itself is as tough as it looks!

I have a rare and near mint condition engine mount for sale, I'm not looking to make a profit but just want to cut down my losses trying to stop my 480's vibrations! Part number 3436075 its the rare rear damper.I have some pics which I can put up if someone can tell me how.

Best

Re: rust 'behind rear boot pockets'

Great, that's super helpful, most my vents rubber bits are still in tact, although they are kind of sticky with the various anti rust treatments. I'm booked in with my local welder in 3 weeks, he dosnt think its too big a job if he takes of the rear bumper & re-welds the arch at the same time- lucki...

Re: rust 'behind rear boot pockets'

Well, I'm of for a trip to a welders today, I was planning to have some work on the rear arch & back bumper anyhow! But if I go with Alan's fiberglass solution it would be an eagle eyed mot guy who saw my plastic filler its ocean of waxoil ;-) Re the drain, there should be one in the middle of the l...

Re: rust 'behind rear boot pockets'

Yes that is the festering pit, I'm pretty sure I took the sponge out a few years ago, not sure my camera is as good as yours but it feels like my previous bit of welding has put a small lair over the bad metal underneath, there should be a little drain hole here I think? The chopped strand sounds ve...

rust 'behind rear boot pockets'

Hi All, Ive discovered some ugly rust in that little pit, about an inch behind where the back of the rear boot pockets live (or down from the electric areal except my rust is the drivers side) I had this sides arch welded a few years ago and I think rust, nature & volvo have conspired to make its ow...

Re: photobucket options whip around?

Its does make you feel pretty vulnerable, I would think the safest bet might be something like youtube, not saying we should all start editing little movies, but uploading a powerpoint-type slide show could do a good job of text and pictures? 480 Channel?

photobucket options whip around?

HI All, As one of the less 'mechanically gifted' on the forum I really miss the pictures in a lot of the threads, esp Jim's old ones. As I understand it the issue is that photo bucket has started to charge, some members understandably havent wanted to pay and we have a diminished site as a result. S...

Re: Tyre Thread

I moved from a mixed set to all for toyo proxes 15/55/185's and they transformed the handling. That said the chevron design throws a lot of water / filth up the sides of the car but I really like them, also very inexpensive at about £50esh. Always had a bit of a crush on the aysemetirc yoko's tho!

Do any of you 480 hero's know if 1.7 engine mounts work with a 2.0 or visa versa?

Re: engine mounts?

Btw, Jaster, I would certainly be interested in a new batch- I'll pm you if I sort my problem, but otherwise please assume I'm in.

Alan, what are polly mounts? Are they some sort of generic damper?

Best
