Re: Lily's transformation

Ah, the joys of fleet management eh?

I think a dehumidifier is also as essential to 480 ownership as 7mm hex bit (for handbrake adjustment, in case anyone is wondering!).

Although I'd have paid good money to watch the reverse tow start....

Re: Digital Clock Repair

Remember the car's that are meant to have the digital clock have four pins on the plug, not three like you analogue peasants.   On the plus side, us analogue peasants can easily tell the time...... One of the things I was looking at with Mr Dendy, was actually replacing all the g...

Re: 27mA current drain, is it normal?

Test it under load; Headlamps, heater blower on Max, heated rear windows and seats.

Shouldn't drop below 13.7 really.

Re: 27mA current drain, is it normal?

What year is the car? All volvo's have an 027 style battery, which is in the region of 60ah; So, it can stand a draw of 1amp for 60 hours, or in the case of you 27ma, 222 hours.... I'd suggest it's one of two things (possibly both!). 1. As it's start with colder, darker weather (which means more loa...

Re: Volvo Audio - What you never asked for....

Now, what if, heaven forbid, you wanted some more modern connectivity, such as bluetooth. Well, that would come in one of three flavours. 1. You buy a dongle that plugs into the cigarette light socket, and transmits on FM (typically 108 to avoid any actual radio station). You pair your device to the...

Volvo Audio - What you never asked for....

I know there's probably 3 people on here that this thread may appeal too, so here's a big old brain dump all about volvo audio; A big thanks goes to DC Walker for the bulk of the research. UK SPECIFICATION 480 – STANDARD RADIO UNITS FITTED AS PER BROCHURES 1987 No reference to unit fitted as standar...

removing the bumper gives the best access. Obviously, this comes with its own issues, but I think you've already battled those!

Remove lower dash panel, remove glovebox. Remove screws and wires from heater motor.

Re: Heaters starting to sound dodgy

It shouldn't.....

I've found that 99% of the time, pulling the heater out, scooping all the dead leaves and crap out, then putting some fresh grease on the the fan bearing gives a wonderfully silent, non-squeeking heather blower.

Its about an hours work.

Re: Snazzy's story

Wish all car park spaces were that big; punish the idiots who drive stupid big cars, reward the ones who drive sensible sized ones! Although as the desire for Stupid Useless Vehicles (SUV’s) increases, along with weight, I read an interesting article that suggested older car parks may not be able to...

Re: 480 turbo CC Bello

The vinyl of the door card unsticked on many places. This is why the textil card didn't fit properly in position with the plastic clips and was glued. I'll glue the vinyl again and try the fitting with the original clips but one is missing. Those clips could be better quality. https://live.staticfl...

Re: Does this imply that my car is still covered by a warranty?

We've all dreamed that! Lifetime Care just meant that after the 3 yrs warranty expired, if you continued to maintain a Volvo dealer service history, any parts which fail in later years will qualify for a contribution from Volvo. The scheme runs on a pro-rata basis according to the age of the ...

When the stuttering starts, does the boost remain constant or does it continue to increase?

Have you checked for air leaks in the inlet / dump valves?
