Re: Oil pressure

Thanks Jay, as Alan480 has said, having the gauge just means one more thing to worry about! By way of update, I've been over to Norm's this morning and we took R3 for a little trip. Hot idle the gauge is in the same place as mine, namely just to the right of the bottom of the white segment. On the ...

Oil pressure

Evening all. I have been using R3 as my daily now for nearly three weeks 10 ml round trip.It has a few electrical issues and the central locking has packed up? What’s new!. My biggest concern is the oil pressure, when the oil temp gets up to around 90c and the car is idling the pressure drops nearly ...

Re: Rescue car: R6 - our first GT

If DC needs a lift down to collect R6 I would be more than willing,I owe him some favours! Also my garage is available for any paint spraying if the weather is not good. When we finally sort R3s new issues out there will be space on the drive for another 480. R3 has had a new clutch and ignition bar...

Re: Baby inbound!

Many congrats James hope all goes well for you both. Regarding seat belts and child seats no the belts are not long enough for the rear facing seat, the one where the belt has to go round the back and over the front of the seat at least. I discovered this recently when transporting the latest grandch...

Yes Steph seemed very taken with the wedge. Maybe she will add one to her existing fleet. It was a very positive piece I thought and yes well done Erie.

Due to the current idiots panic buying fuel, we’re going to have to postpone day 2 of the meet.
But why? I had four jerrycans full of petrol and six packs of loo rolls in the car ready to go.

Re: Northampton-Derbys-Yorks Meet 25-26th Sept 21

I hope to be joining at some stage probably at Settle. It depends on the care I can arrange for Sue.I hope we have time to call in at the West Burton waterfall as well as it’s only a short detour from Aysgarth and well worth it.Hoping to come in (Jeff)R3 if the clutch behaves itself. He is looking goo...

Re: Rescue Car: R3

Top work David! I can’t thank D C enough to be honest. The electrical problems were beginning to really frustrate me. The thing is that hidden underneath all it’s problems is a solid virtually rust free low mileage car. Hopefully D C is collecting another clutch pedal tomorrow amongst other bits so...

Re: Rescue Car: R3

Latest update on R3 (Jeff). He is currently residing at D C Walkers pamper parlour so that David can try and solve the electrical issues, the latest of which is an unknown battery drain. The last few weeks have involved a lot of head scratching and curing one problem that leads to another. Never mind...

Re: Rescue Car: R3

Today’s update. First many thanks once again to D C Walker for his time and effort. The recored matrix has been put back in ( very fiddly). The replacement pop up motor works but we are unable to sequence the lights. Still having problems with heater blower and one or two other electrical issues, so...

Re: Rescue Car: R3

So another update. A few hours spent with D C Walker ( many thanks) to try and sort some problems which to a certain extent we did. Problems still exist with passenger pop up that we couldn’t resolve we believe that at some stage some of the wiring has been butchered. Thanks to Jeff for heater matrix...

Re: Rescue Car: R3

Time for an update methinks. Using R3 as my daily to see how it behaves before starting to spend a bit on it. The good points first: the engine apart from a little cold idle wobble is performing well: gearbox no problems though the clutch is still a little heavy but hoping it will ease with use.: th...
