Melvin, it's the oilpressure sensor which is combined with the oil level sensor. The oiltemp sensor is on the other side of the engine, has one wire like the watertemp sensor for the dash gauge. Well, that's what I thought first too. I installed an infocenter in a 480S and needed the sensors for th...

The oil temperature sensor can also be combined with the oil level sensor. Have such one in our 2L. Then it is located next to the dipstick and is has a square connector with 4 pins on it. Don't know for which models or years the sensor is located at the back of the engine and for which it is combin...

Common places for air leaks are the small vacuum hoses connected to the inlet manifold. Also check the pieces of those hoses that are hidden in the right wing. Another common place is the elbow piece (90* bend) at the inlet of the turbo. And, ofcourse, check that every hose is well secured to preven...

As it is difficult to find the problem if it is electrical, it is better to rule out any mechanical problem first. The testing method I described is not that hard to do and give's you direct information if the system is able to open the throttle fully and if it's able to hold it's vacuum. If all is ...

The light is on at the moment the switch is set at 'on'. I think you can also make the light work at the moment the CC is actualy engaged. Then you'll have to connect it to the +12V supply to the vacuumpump. But to be sure you'll have to measure that.

What I would try first is to make sure it isn't a mechanical problem. I had a malfunctioning CC too, which sometimes didn't work or only below certain speeds. This can be caused by an (internal) air leak. The system uses vacuum to open the throttle. The further it want's to open the throttle, the mo...

I've also got those wiper blades since last week. And I'm about to remove then again and buy some normal wiper blades. The reason is that they aren't able to follow the rounding of the windscreen. The passenger side wiper (LHD car) will loose contact with the windscreen and the lower most right corn...

What I find a very interesting aspect is that it will start when hot, when a battery pack is connected. This makes me think the following. For some reason, the battery can supply enough to make the engine crack (or didn't it??) but the engine won't fire. If the battery clamps are oxydated (is it wri...

Seems that the Volvo stuff isn't popular. Is the stuff you bought in short strips the same as the stuff on a role I have? I didn't had any problems with it. Just routing it around where the clusters would be fitted (with the ends of the trail at the bottom to prevent leaking) and pressing the cluste...

I've also used window sealant for my rear clusters. After three years still no leaks. I've used it from Volvo as I got it for free from the dealer, to seal the rear clusters, when I bought the car there (bought the car without warranty, and with ductaped rear clusters...). It is this stuff. Because ...

I've just patched the leak with some window sealant. The same stuff as you said, just not from 3M but from Volvo. (Have both, the Volvo stuff has a larger diameter than the 3M). Didn't put any silicon there. Although I'm not going to use it now: what about acid free silicon? The clear (or black) stu...

For now I'm looking for a temporary solution. The goal for now is to keep the water outside. I'm planning to get the arches done (again) and to have the roof repainted. I'll have this done later this year. So the best time to remove the windscreen and have it properly fixed is at that time. I'm not ...

I've found the place of the leak. It is leaking between the bodywork and the windscreen. Exactly at the corner of the windscreen, water is seeping through. I think it comming through between the windscreen sealing/glue and the bodywork. This is how it looks like: http://i44.tinypic.com/27xi1b7.jpg F...

It is not necessary to remove the steering wheel. If you turn the steering wheel, it is possible to clear one screw at a time. This is the case if you have the standard steering wheel.

A (not discussed before?) water leak

My car has developed a new water leak. It is always wet under de pedals now. So far, nothing new. But I couldn't find a leak that is discussed before, looking at where it is coming from: I can see water dripping from the A-piller trim when I look between the trim and the dashboard. It is a slow proc...
